  1. Ooo and it would cost me at least £60 in fuel for me to travel over and do it but obviously I'm not going to charge her lol.
  2. It's been quoted £200 by a friend of mine for the last 15yrs ish who know my mam very well and loves 10 mins round the corner. And that's at mates rates as well
  3. Just wondered a rough estimate to have this taken out and the stump cut off as low as possible. It's in my mother's garden 3hrs away from me and i'm sure I would still be making money if I made the 6hr round trip to deal with it at the price she's been quoted. Just wondered what the rough estimate of fellow arb talkers would be. Cheers gents
  4.

  14. That is a great idea. May have to copy that
  15. I think we posted the same thing at the same time there. Great minds think alike ehh:thumbup1:
  16. Thinking of adding a small winch on as well for those bits you can't get the skidder close enough to
  17. Something like this
  18. The to bits of angle iron have a bar to go across with slits for chains when pulling lots of small stuff. Got to drill a hole in the top middle bar and weld a collar in for a pin and shackle to go through and then have either a clevis hook or a pulley on. Going to install a bar for the draw bar to the top bar as support And for skidding bigger stuff. Ill try and find a picture of what I mean. Just going to bolt that in place in case I ever bend it. Saves cutting and grinding at welds and messing up the paint and having to redo it
  19. What do you guys reckon? Not quite finished and needs painting but getting close to completion now. So far its cost around £80 for stub axles, £10 for the tow hitch, £30 on steel, and quoted £50 for shot blasting and painting
  20. Risk is the severity of an action and the likelihood of that action occurring. I.e. risk - being struck by falling timber Severity - potentially fatal Likelihood - very unlikely (hopefully) due to experience and training Risk is low (hopefully) but the severity remains unchanged. Doesn't matter how many tickets or qualifications or years experience you have,if your flat packed by a ton of timber your probably dead on smashed to bits. So overall the job is dangerous. End off.
  21. What price you looking for 10 ish
  22. This is a great thread gents. Makes interesting reading. What would you guys recommend planting on a 0.5 acre site with heavy clay. Looking at planting mainly for firewood but also for habitat and interest/colour.
  23. Thanks for all your help. Newspaper bags are a great idea. And stanton hope sell purpose made one's as well. Cheers
  24. Apologies for the title of this thread my kindle occasionally decides to do its own thing
