  1. I'm on the BSc, how are you finding it?
  2. Hi emcgee, I'm at myerscough doing the online course and so far it's been a bit mixed, enjoying the subject but sometimes takes a while to get course notes/answers to things.
  3. For one of my modules for uni I have to find a group of trees local to me and identify problems with them, obviously this has problems with the really tight fork but are the black marks on it indications of phytophora or is it just bacterial wet wood? Cheers!
  4. George, which reading lists do you want specifically? I'm on the course so have them all but there is a different list for each module and don't just want to throw a hundred book titles at you if they aren't relevant.
  5. Hi guys, I'm currently studying an online BSc in arb and looking to get some work under my belt to run alongside this as currently working a different job which isn't offering much towards my degree. I can do weekend work straight away but ideally looking for something full-time. Not got any tickets yet but hopefully all being well will get them at the end of January. Have experience working for local council, volunteering etc. I'm based in Accrington and have a clean driver license. If anyone could help out would be much appreciated.
  6. Ye sorry, that's what I meant 30/31 one week then 38 another week. Just doesn't make sense for me to take a week off then a random day the week after. Cheers
  7. Afternoon, I'm doing an online degree in arb and want to get my tickets done pretty soon as they're not included in the course. Working full-time so would need to take the week off so ideally need assessment in the same week/weekend. Have all the PPE just no chainsaw yet. Can anyone recommend anything in Lancashire or surrounding area? Cheers
  8. Im in Preston too and I know Myerscough at least do a basic one day course but haven't been able to find anything more than that
  9. If you're doing the same module as the FdSc (MR1207?) the deadline was the 30th, I think it's in one of the weekly update things.
  10. Phew, you had me worried then! @Bolthole this year seems the same, the soil science module is updated every Monday evening and we recieve an email telling us but the arb practise has only been updated twice and just seems to happen randomly. I was also looking at doing my tickets there but seems odd they won't lend people on the course the necessary kit but people not distance learning get helped through them. Has anyone had their soil sample results back yet? Been waiting three weeks for mine now
  11. Have I missed something, which module are the posters for?
  12. From watching the video that Irene put online we use the dropbox link which is in the results section I believe? I'm finding her course a lot easier to follow with the samples she has provided, not looked too much at the other one yet still got my head in "essential soil science".
  13. Hi, I have just started on an Arboriculture degree at Myerscough and I am looking for some work experience to run alongside my course. Wiling to pretty much do anything but currently can only do weekends as have a full-time job. Cheers
  14. Hi guys, Just found this post, I am also enrolled on the course and had similar issues as others. Has anyone received anything yet? Had no course info through at all and find all the passing around between the various sites myerscough/uclan/bloom/office etc a bit confusing as don't know where info is going to come from.
