  1. the fungus was first detected 10 years ago by my boss and with the location of the tree being near a regularly used footpath, it was time for the tree to come down.
  2. probably being a bit over cautious, as it was the first time with a crane and driver.
  3. Cheers guy. I was running two saws, first being ms341 and other an 066 with a 36" bar on it. This was my first crane job, was pretty lucky due to there not being many lateral branches on it but always good to get some new tips. Cheers again for the comments

  10. hey Reg, Thanks for replying, i think its fair what you say about people not being that appreciative about passing on tips and hints. i mean all your trying to do is make the day a little bit easier, any way thanks again. Best tip i have used was the old 'floating redirect' for retrieving the lowering line when it and you are miles apart. I used that 'tip' to send the top of this beech back towards the stem. it made retrieving the lowering much easier. [ame] [/ame] all the best Reg (have you got any more 200ft plus tree vids coming out ?)
  11. good news little bit jealous wish i could get a gopro4, all i used was a bungee cord and wrapped it round the stem and the base of the camera, took some fiddling but got the shot in the end. there's also a cable tie you can use if you cut in a groove in the 3m tape on the base with a bit of card on the bottom. [ame] [/ame] nothing wrong with the gopro clamp
