  1. Speaks for itself really [ame] [/ame]
  2. hi guys, i know this has probably been covered before but whats the deal with getting a rope wrench LOLERed ?? I only ask due honeybrothers stating that the rope wrench hasn't been an EN number. Just want to find out before I possibly purchase one. I also want to say that i really like the look of the new colours and this has tempted me make the leap from DRT to SRT. Any feedback would be great Thanks
  3. Hi, cheers for the comments I have to admit a left out a few vital bits of info (sorry). In terms of deadwood, I wouldn't really know how much dead there is hanging around but all I can say is, that this woodland seemed to be rather young, in comparison to the Sycamore. As there were only a few syc's around this size, I could only guess that the home owner (or who ever) planted a woodland around these larger trees. The general stability of the tree was compromised by a large basal decay, looking back I should have recorded this for the video. All though no major targets were underneath the tree, the structure of the stem lent itself more to a monolith rather than firewood. cheers for the comments
  4. cheers guys, ye it was a bit hairy at first, starting off, but bot too bad once you get used to the wobble. For me, topping out is the reward of the job. Watching any sized top go where you want it too is the best part (well...for me). I had an old friend that used say chogging down the stem is the best, simply because your getting closer to the ground, not sure if I agree with that. any who, thanks
  5. Ha no it's fine, you would be surprised what you can put a go pro through will any damage
  6. Cheers Darrin, its a gopro hero3, am waiting for a hero 4 for Christmas
  7. Nothing beats the feeling 😏
  8. thats because on the day previous, we had taken a pine down, it was the one the fixed bollard was tied to. So we had some time at the end of the day to strip the ivy from the stem, just speed things up the next day.
  9. Thanks there Stihlmadd. Good idea there Darrin, i'd be tempted to use a running bowline instead of a carabiner (personal preference). Nice idead non the the less, cheers
  10. cheers Darrin. Do you find that don't sap up to much ?? how much would one of those set me back ££? I think the wall was staying and they were building an internal wall as well, dont ask me why, i never asked. Dear Mark, Magic is real !
  11. thanks all. Ne guy ti, yes they are very sticky trees indeed. In previous years had to take spare climbing kit to change over when the sap has completely saturated all my friction cord Breezeblock, it was a 201 top handle saw (pathetic as they are), its all we have The boss has just bought a 160t but haven't had the chance to use it yet. Have you used one ?? Mick I would have preferred to chunk it down but the drive way has fine dressing of decorative gravel and that terram underneath.I think the plastic would have been alliterated so rigging it was. We also took down all the other pines on site but it was far to wet to do any filming.
  12. It was a 2 day tree, purely for the fact that chipping macrocarpa on a hill is a nightmare. Those little cones turned that guys drive way into a slip n slide. Also it could have been the hefty bits of timber that needed cutting up into manageable bits. cheers
  13. lol, who doesn't love a compilation, i know i do. Thought it was about time i told myself that summer was in fact over and to stop kidding myself. Hoping for a colder rather than a wetter winter this year, just have to cross my balls and hope
  14. Now that summer is over and we are headed into autumn/winter times, i just wanted to make a summer time treeworks video compilation and share with you guys. watch in HD. Thanks again, have a great winter. Twitter - https://twitter.com/?lang=en-gb Treworks Homepage - Treeworks: Tree Consultants & Tree Surgeons in Pembrokeshire, Wales - Home [ame] [/ame]
  15. sorry for the late reply guys. The sycamore is a fairly large one (remind me next time to get a whole tree for scale lol). It's a large in terms what size trees grow down here in pembrokeshire. this is just my personal opinion but i think it should stay as is because we are doing some renovation ground work for this client and it can be easily monitored. But if the decision was made to have it out then great potential for bat roost as mentioned before and also it could be a good tree for practicing some advance rigging techniques. any way hope all is good with you guys. cheers again
  16. any advice would be much appreciated. its a large sycamore over hanging power lines and the oil tank below. the lean of the tree is away from any property so any advice on whether to reduce or remove would be great. [ame] [/ame] please comment
  17. cheers treeation hoping to put together a video a week of everything we get up to followed with some commentary. the editing quirkiness is so i can get the idea across quickly instead of using fancy graphics ect... that takes way more time. cheers again
