    Cave drying

Hi all jst wanted some opinions we have a fair size cave in our garden which doesn't get wet. Is it better to ring and split all my soft wood and stack in here for drying or should I leave it in the bigger garden as logs with a tarp over??? Does timber dry out better once split? 20. But surely if you have the log burning aga firing all day (free logs of course) doing the cooking and hot water (I'm thinking a cylinder with desperate coil for hot water) your quids in!!! My folks have solar thermal as well as LPG boiler but the panels are expensive, I've seen a cheap aga so it wud be the cost of the cylinder and pope work!! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. Your probably right about the efficiency but comparing the cost of oil to all the free wood we get then it works out a lot cheaper in a lifetime!!!! It also saves on cooking costs as the aga would always be on and my electric cooker won't!!! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. It's madness people ripped out back boilers 10 years ago and yet were all considering going back!!!! Just saw a solid fuel aga on gumtree and considering it for the kitchen & hot water!!! Heating oil prices r ridiculous!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
