  1. As mark skyland said as a Royal Mail account customer the postal services are liable to VAT , which then obviously has to be passed on to the customer , see the following from the Royal Mail website Changes to VAT rules and the way in which our products are regulated have affected the VAT status of a number of our products. A summary of the main products affected is shown later on this page. Universal services (USO) such as 1st and 2nd Class stamps will continue to be VAT exempt. A list of products that will remain VAT exempt is also shown later on this page. For more information on Royal Mail prices visit: http://www.royalmail.com/prices-2014 Many business customers can reclaim VAT. If your business is registered for VAT, and sells taxable goods or services, then as a general rule, you will be able to recover the VAT in the normal way on your VAT return. For professional advice, talk to your Finance department, accountant or tax advisor. You can also find more information on VAT at the HMRC website: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/vat (new window). 2. I have seen 2 MS261's with damaged cranks , cranks were visibly worn down where the bearing ran & drum not running oil pumps due to excessive slack , new drum and bearing only a temporary cure as wear excessive. One repaired under warranty with new crank and components , one scrapped and replaced with different saw , just had one in this week that won't idle so will be looking @ clutch area firstly knowing what these saws are like Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. As Gardenkit says the Aspen FRT oil exceeds highest JASO standard FD , the FD standard was established in the 1990,s . As an Aspen service centre selling thousands of litres a year I know what I would put in my new saw , the quality of this fuel is fantastic, machines start very easily , run cleanly and should last much longer without the build up of carbon on cylinder , piston and exhaust components , this is especially important on Strato engines such as the Husky 550/560 and most new Stihl products , low grade oils cause excessive carbon buildup on piston causing rings to stick , also seen scoring on pistons along with this especially on Stihl blowers . Simple answer use Aspen or High grade JASO FD or above 2T oil if you wish to run pump fuel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Aspen fuels

Really good visiting the Aspen factory Barrie to see how it's made and the quality controls that are in place from the port where the raw alkylate comes in off the tanker through to the finished product , gives me as a fellow Aspen service centre even more confidence when selling this fuel. Great talk from their chemists where we learnt even more about Aspen and pump fuels. Dealer visits were interesting apparently 60% of the fuel buying public / pros use Alkylate fuels , Aspen being the leading brand , is even available in DIY superstores. Aspen fuels

AllyH we have a customer with both a 550XP & 560XP he has run from new exclusively on Aspen2 he experiences none of the issues other people have with the autotune saws. The oil in Aspen2 exceeds the current highest rating of JASO FD . It produces no measurable ash in 1L of burnt oil. Some people dislike the smell , however it has been proven that when an engine that has previously operated using regular 2 stroke oil and pump fuel is switched to Aspen the emissions will initially be higher , this is because the old existing internal deposits are being cleansed from your engines internals thus causing an initial bad smell until they have gone . Hope this helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Aspen fuels

I am going to have to correct you there buddy "Aspen 2 oil exceeds JASO FD rating" , JASO FD is a 1990's spec oil as that's when the last official JASO testing was done on mopeds . As there has been no JASO testing since the 90's FD is the highest official rating printed on oil packaging. I have been to the Aspen factory in Sweden this year and learnt a lot from their chemist Ulf . Their oil also produces no measurable ash when tested , they test this by burning 1L of oil in an oven then covering what's left over with acid , what's then left over is the ash that is dried and weighed . This was tested against a premium brand low ash competitors oil. Having seen and worked on engines running exclusively on Aspen 2 I can personally vouch for the internal cleanliness, all that's visible is a burn mark from the combustion flame front and an oily residue , this includes the exhaust port . 9. A used one would be a better bet in my opinion tan a Chinese copy as most of these don't last 5 minutes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Has it got the correct coil fitted?? , many Makita /Dolmar models have different versions of ignition coils for one model of saw , if the wrong one is fitted the timing can be radically different , been there myself with a DCS500 fitted a black coil rather than red , would not even try to start Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
