  1. Thanks all for your input/advise. One last question, size wise what do you think is firstly a workable option (2 man team), secondly forward planning wise a desirable size and is it worth going bigger investment & trailer wise straightaway? Thanks new Boy
  2. Hi guys could any of you please comment on the daily use as a sole method of dealing with waste etc and balancing this with the transportation of a chipper etc?????? Original question below. Thanks. Also does anyone use a tipping trailer daily, if so how do you manage both, logs, chip and branches etc? New Boy
  3. Hi sorry, I am not sure of the temp (even though at the time i was interested to see, hence the picture) I just melted slowly in the end and just used common sense, which seemed to work, basically when it was a liquid I poured it into my mould. All I would say that even though I was careful and protected the kitchen surface it still needed a good clean!!! Good luck
  4. No problems, keep them coming, getting interesting, as I say I have to have a tipper and now there's more food for thought!
  5. I love bee keeping, very sad! Been doing it for around 5 years, though this year was the first time we tried to harvest our wax, very easy in the end and a lot of fun! Roll on the lip balm, candles and a bit of home grown honey too!!
  6. I will soon need to buy a tipping trailer and having never used one before I would like some advice please. I need a trailer as I have change my vehicle to a Toyota Hilux 4L so plenty of pulling power. I have looked on-line at Ifor Williams trailers which all look good and I am leaning towards them in general, but the main question is what size to buy, is it a question as going a big as possible? Also does anyone use a tipping trailer daily, if so how do you manage both, logs, chip and branches etc? Lots of questions any advice will be well received!! Thanks. New Boy
  7. Wouldn't it be nice, to be nice!
  8. Hi I have terms and conditions on my quotes and displayed via my website so not being aware isn't a valid excuse etc. My terms and conditions were extracted from the Arb Association which provide a template and i just changed what I thought necessary. Even with these measures in place, contracts etc, theres no guarantee of payment and to chase it is a real pain, though doable, sometimes lifes too short!!
  9. Hi, Please can i ask how often do you have/required to "under HSE" to check, chainsaws and chippers. And is it that the weekly Loler check is one that should be conducted by the company and then independently every 6 months by a Loler inspector? Regards New Boy
  10. Thanks guys, very helpful. Regards New Boy
  11. Hi Would anyone have and be willing to share a working daily/etc checklist/template of Lifting Operations-Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, before i go ahead and create my own version please? Regards New Boy
  12. Hi Guys, Could I please ask, how successful are your rentals of your platforms, is it a steady source of income etc? Regards New Boy

  15. Thanks guys, so what sort of prices do you reckon are realistic please?
  16. Thanks guys, great pictures, guess my next question is what should i expect to pay, though i am sure the price relates to height and quality. What models would you recommend please and lastly does anyone know of any dealership that would be willing to allow finance payments (with deposit) rather than payment outright? Thanks New Boy
  17. Hi, Does anyone currently use vehicle mounted or towable MEWP on a regular basis, if so would you consider it a worthwhile asset for a small business to own. I like the thought of using the platform approach though I don't want to make a poor investment when in a position to purchase one. What I should say is that I have never used one at this stage. Could I please ask those of you who do use them how regularly say per week you would be able to do so? Any specific make/model recommendations would also be appreciated. Your pictures MEWP also appreciated! Thanks all New Boy
  18. Thanks all, James is this what you use on your Facebook, which looks very good! New Boy
  19. Hi Could anyone please tell me, do you have to pay to have a business Facebook account or is it free? Regards New Boy
  20. Hi, I was recently advised to get all those whom work with me to sign a statement that they have been paid "in gross" and that therefore they are fully liable for the tax owed on the amount i pay them. I have also discussed this matter in detail with my accountant whom is also a friend and who I am sure wouldn't mind me saying is "very by the book" who confirmed this as more than suitable process. Also you should obtain from them a record of their Unique Taxpayer Reference Number (UTR) if they are self employed and record days worked etc. Regards New Boy
  21. Thanks for your good advice will give it all a go soon!!
