  3. Does anyone know when the new 550xp Mk11 is available ?
  4. Between 2pm and 5pm today 12th March 2019, thieves broke into my house and virtually cleared out all my gear, 3 huskies, Sthil Kombi system, Ropes etc all in all about three and half grand to replace. If you are in business in west suffolk please be aware that we are experiencing a fresh wave of thefts. missing Saws are 540, 550 and my beloved 372. The 540 and 550 are registered in my name on the system so hopefully they might turn up
  5. Due to illness require a freelance climber weekend 1st 2nd and 8th Sept. Contact Rob on 07976 504362
  6. I do sympathise to a certain extent, but surely it's down to the retailer to ensure their courier keeps their custmers informed and not to lie about false delivery claims. As I said earlier, we don't live in the dark ages and a simple txt to explain that they are unable to deliver is far more acceptable than lying !
  7. Tracked it as soon as I arrived home, said that I was delivery number 48 and at around 5.30 it was showing the van being 15 mins away on delivery 46. Never had this trouble with any other courier and in this time of instant communications there is no excuse for leaving a people sitting around waiting. The Depot is 45miles away and I think I've lost enough time and money all ready. It's not just the waste of time it's the deceit and couldn't give a damn attitude that really gets my goat.
  8. Anyone had problems with deliveries by interlink ? I ordered some climbing gear from F R Jones yesterday which was supposed to arrive between 4pm and 5.pm today. Stopped work early and got home by 3.45pm then sat outside in the sun until 7.30 not sign of the blighters. Got a txt at 7.18pm to say no one to sign for the delivery, which is obviously bollo*ks ! This is the second time they've pulled that trick, last year I ordered a Huskie 395 for an urgent job, F R Jones sent it out with interlink for next day delivery actually took a week to arrive and then by another courier! Sadly after using F R Jones for a long time I'm moving my business elsewhere which is a shame, but I can't be doing business with any company that uses such a incompetent and deceitful delivery company!
  9. Shouldn't you be in bed by now ? My mum always said if I wasn't in bed by ten, I should come home :-)
  10. All that‘s missing is a glass of something and a cigar
  11. Don‘t mind the swerve away to dogs lol! Had Rotts for many years, fell in love with them after meeting a friend of mines mum. Her name at the time was Joan Woodgate and it's her Rotts in the original Omen film. She remarried and she now bears the Surname Blackmore. She's trained all sorts of animals for films nd working trials. That was the start with Rotts for me and I haven't been without one since :-)
  12. Love GSDs I've had a few over the years, but not since I realized I was bit allergic to their hair :-( Here is a pic of my gang from the same time as the pic of Graf There is one missing as she has just had a litter of pups. They all got along really well even though both the males were entire,
  13. Thanks for the offer Peter, but if no one wants them I'll log them up. As I said earlier Just thought someone could put them to good use. Looks like a nice set up you have there :-)
  14. Thanks for that info I'll look into it :-)
  15. My Boy Graf, passed away couple of years ago, Always have a Rott or two about. Thanks for the compliment Kev. Bred him myself. By Erros Von Burgthann out of Hanbar Mary's Lass. He was a really fun dog :-)
  16. My thinking exactly Big J, I'm quite happy to give them to anyone who can collect them and I'll cut them to any length needed.
  17. Thanks Alec, Got a few feelers out, I'm not looking for money just thought it was a pity to turn it into fire wood lol.
  18. Doesn't seem to be any interest from forum members as yet, if anyone can point me in the direction of someone would could use these for milling or similar I'd be greatful. Just seems a waste to cut them up for logs.
  19. I have just dismantled 4 large mature Poplars, I have the trunks available for any one who can collect them. At the moment they are at the following dimensions' the largest is 73cm DBH and the smallest is 63cm DBH and they are all approx 40ft long. they are roadside and can be cut to your requirements. Please contact me for further details. Location CB8 (Suffolk).
  20. I've had problems with my 2014 550xp. I do most of my work in the tree with my 540xp so the 550 doesn't get a huge amount of use. I was doing a job felling some Ash and the 550 kept stalling so I put it in the truck and finished the job with my 372xp. When I got home I looked at the plug and it looked a bit weak. I contacted Husky customer service as the saw was just over a year old and out of standard warranty. They said to take it to a Husky dealer with proof of purchase and they would consider extending the warranty. Dealer said that the saw had a bore seize due to an air leak, but said the saw had only done 13hrs work. Cutting a long story short the saw was repaired under warranty, but took over a month to get fixed and although it runs really well when in use, it cuts out after the chainbrake is released. Been back to the repairer twice and to another dealer once. all seems well until it's been used a couple of times..the only way to keep it running from tick over is the give the bulb a couple of pumps. By the way all my saws are running on Aspen and I've had no trouble with others at all.
  21. I have always been of the opinion that if he hadn't had that gun those burglars would have beaten him to death. And as someone mentioned in an earlier post, rural police are lacking in resourses. We are suffering with a crime wave at the moment and the inability of the police to catch or even investigate just seems to encourage crime ! We are left to sort the problem ourselves and no doubt will be the bad guys when we catch the shits !
  22. Funny thing is that Parcel Force who seem to have a bad rep are one of the most reliable, but I've had trouble with UK Fail, and Useless Parcel Service as well. Decided to refuse deliveries from Inter Link and will inquire with my suppliers before purchasing from them in future!
  23. Anyone had problems with Interlink Express ? I had a major issue with these substandard arseholes. Ordered a new saw for a specific job, Interlink emailed me the delivery date and time and having delivered some consumables the previous week with no problem I thought " great". I booked two subies for the following day and got home in plenty of time to meet the delivery driver...just before the allotted time I saw the Interlink Express van pull out of a turning just up the road, then speed off past my place without a second glance...I ran out to see if he was looking for my house, but no sign of him. 5 mins later I got a text to say that the was no one to sign for the delivery, along with a picture of some random house about a mile away. Driver had my Mobile and house phone nos, but made no attempt to call and there was no way to contact the Delivery co direct. On discussion with my other half she recalled that Interlink Express had done this to me before with urgent equipment deliveries. Needless to say it turned into an expensive saw by the time I'd lost an afternoon and then paid two guys for the lost working day. one day it would be nice to have some recourse for that kind of treatment.
  24. We are suffering from an outbreak of machinery and tool thefts in the CB8 area. There has been an incident every night since Sat. Just a heads up to be extra vigilant !
  25. 61..climbing most days..joints bit dodgy, but that comes from driving heavy lorries with no power steering and hand bulling many many many of tons of agricultural products lol, bit deaf from chainsaws, racing engines and rattling lorry cabs ( in my day they weren't decked out like the tarts boudoirs of today lol). Got a early middle aged groundie that can do the work of a gang of youfs. Employ my pal's son occasionally but like those of his ilk is a W**ker when it gets past 11 O'clock.
