  1. Good at keeping moths away from clothes. Well seasoned stuff will make good bat boxes and bird boxes.
  2. I know a farmer/pheasant shoot that registered a daihatsu four track as agricultural once it failed its mot. Never left the farm and think it had to do less than 1000 miles on public roads and he ran it on red.
  3. Based in the NW near lancaster. Can travel.
  4. Cs30/31, 6 years experience on saws, felling, pruning. Wanting to climb eventually if get the right work. Looking for 2-3days a week on a self employed basis or just whatever you have as one off work? Proficiency cert in tractor trailed forwarder, nptc brushcutters, pesticides, atv's, 4x4 handling an tractors with pto and front handler.
  5. Got a lawnmower last week It didn't run. But when I tried to set fire to the fuel in the tank it wouldn't burn! New fuel and ran brill. Had to re cement a roof tile on for him while I was up the ladder, but still. It's on eBay at the moment

No wonder window cleaning is one of the most dangerous jobs in the uk :-P It's a shame a few shady individuals can change the whole perception of someone who may just be trying to make an honest buck. I'm currently touting for work as I've just gone self employed and would hate to think anybody thinks I'm up to no good. And I'll be wearing type c chainsaw protection if I ever have to chap on doors round your way
  8. I window cleaned for a while, nobody responds to canvassing off a leaflet or card, but lots do to a knock at the door. He was probably just going at a time when most people are in.
  9. Well. I've done it. Handed in the notice to go self employed totally! Have cs30/31 and been doing forestry tree care for National Trust as a ranger and for private estates for last 7 years on and off. Wanting to do climbing tickets soon and get into climbing, but happy to carry on felling. What work do you have??

  11. Ideal. Will need a new cable as this one is only 8mm ish. There's ex army place in ingleton that does the wire if I remember rightly.
  12. Awesome. Winch has just been left in a shed after a farm sale where it was bought by a mate of mine who never used it. Came with 20 metres of 11mm wire, looks like stuff I've used with tirfor before. Just has had both ends cut :-(
  13. Yep should have a handle. Got one in my shed somewhere. Easy enough to make up though. Got a roll of 10mm wire (ish) with it but hasn't got an eyelet on the end, or a chamfered section for working through the winch :-(
  14. Anyone know which model Tirfor I have acquired today? And what wire rope I need? Would like to get my hands on an instruction manual too
  15. Cup of tea 2 sugars. For a hottie, Cup of tea 1 sugar for average. Cup of tea no sugar for one to look at if desperate. Black coffee for a munter.
