  2. Yes the hcc is portfolio based, and is the theory side, its in depth all right way more than I thought but like everything in life you get out what you put in, it does seem relaxed as in go at your own pace

  4. Surely there must be a more organised examination though ? I don't mind studying paying and doing exams, Not an issue at all, just seems nobody says whether this is all worth it in the end
  5. I was told this has since changed and the theory side is now portfolio based? I'm going to see exactly what's what, though and get 100% clarification
  6. Seem a good course, so this with the practical modules and we are certified ? Its more in depth than I imagined but end result be a good understanding from the ground up

  8. Nothing in post at all, what stuff did you receive, u looked at the abc course details it gives a complete breakdown and suggests books to get, didnt realise was so intense good though , I also reckon the hcc course fees dost cover the exam costs and there is 5 according to abc
  9. Excellent more excited now , all the lantra units will take a fair bit of time and money to complete but its well worth while in the long run,
  10. That's what it's all about defo worth it in the long run , do you know if the hcc is all pc based or textbook ? I'd prefer book

  19. Hi who would choose a carbide chain over a regular ? I'm cutting 'clean ' oak but fancy a chain with a bit of oomph He who dares... Wins!

  21. Hard with the I phone camera, I'm maybe looking to use it for a kitchen , what's the going price of oak these days does anyone know, as in selling direct to a sawmill, so much competition everyone wants things for free ! He who dares... Wins!
  22. I'm currently removing a very large oak which has fallen across a stream, trunk looks good, I'm thinking should I salvage it in as big a piece as possible for potential selling on or just cut it up for fire wood, just in my head seems a waste Cheers He who dares... Wins!
