  1. I'm running Greenteeth on my rg 1631 and i highly recommend them. They cut great, last long and is very easy to turn or change, and you should be able to bolt them right on your 252.
  2. My first job with my rayco rg1631 was 90-100 fir stumps average 30 cm, all cut nice down. I was there from 8.00 to 18.00 and all stumps was done in one day. I dont rember the price for that job, but i charge 17.5 £ for a 40 cm stump. But if the stumps are spread all over the town, it can eat a lot of time going from stump to stump you need to get paid for too. When i buy a new one, i m going after wider swing instead of more horsepower, it is often the 1 meter swing is a limltation, in my opinion. Of course bigger engine AND bigger swing would be better :-)
  3. The sidewinder and a Rayco 1625 is two different machines, i have had both and i would never consider a manually operated stumpgrinder again. I just finished grinding a stump measuring over 7 feet across, about 5-6 hours grinding, and no sore arms/shoulders/back or anything. I bought my first Rayco 1620, a beat up old machine in 2003 and the year after i bought a brand new 1631, witch i'm still running. I have had very few problems with it, a leaking cylinder and a broke hour meter, both covered under warranty, and both brackets for side swing cylinders have had to be welded. The most expensive component on the machine is the engine, so take a good look at it.Belts and bearings is consumeables on a stumpgrinder and pricevise not a big deal. The swing cylinders have hardned bushings in the brackets. The price look fair to me.
  4. I'm not saying Bandit is a bad machine, i'm just saying in my opinion FSI looks better built. I would buy Carlton 4012 44 hp kubota if i had to buy a new machine today. I don't know about UK but in Denmark fsi is sold with Greenteeth, and you can buy them in the whole world. Hydraulic, perhaps it works just fine today, it would be nice if Bandit promotion video was showing a full cutting arc instead of tiny glimps. Jesse - good luck with the new toy when you decide what to buy
  5. I would consider fsi quality better compared with bandit, just had my hands on one in the weekend, and i think it is very nice built, and have some good features, like the swing out control so you can actually see what the cutting wheel is doing. I have talked to the owner of fsi a couple of times and if i remember correctly most of the maintenance parts is standard so you can buy it anywere. And no matter what people say, there is a bigger power loss in the hydraulic cutter wheel system. But i would step up a bit and get the diesel version. You also get a little more swing 1.35 m versus 1.25 m on the bandit.
  6. The temprature dosen't have to be below 0° - my old motorcycle would suffer from it up to 25° - poorly adjusted carbs i suppose. But it is easy to observe, and fix like mentioned above. I don't think it is a air filter problem if it is a "come and go" problem.
  7. If the temperature is low, between 0-8 C° it can be carburetor ice. If the inlet manifold is cold like ice (actually sometimes there is ice on the outside of the manifold) the problem can be solved with some alcohol additive sold on all gas stations. My old Rayco 1620 had a lot of problems with it, and i always had a can with carburetor alcohol (translated from danish - not sure if it is the right word for it) with me.
