  1. Do your research mate... Too many people leave the forces with tales of people earning 150 a day etc and it does not happen (on the most part anyway). It's definitely not that easy, and the transition will be a tough one, I left last year after 6 years in an airborne unit obviously with the above mindset thinking it would be a breeze. But it was a real struggle adapting to the lower income at first.... I managed to pester my way into a trainee climber position and have learned an incredible amount already, your best bet would definitely be a smaller firm if you want the climbing experience! Kingswood and tkf are both excellent at what they do as well!! If all goes well and you crack on always paying attention to the boss and being a bit of a beaker like me and doing your own research in time off then you will do well! Firms love someone who will work hard and have laugh too! If you just do tickets with a company then book yourself on a RFS certificate in Arboriculture too with myerscough college. Online based and £70 with your learning credits!!! Then you won't just be a chainsaw happy loon like my mate warren haha!! Anyway from negative to positive this essay has been lovely! Learn a lot and enjoy it mate! Absolutely any questions give me a tinkle 07598798110
  2. Dismantling a large Honey fungus infested Oak today and the groundy thought he would take some snaps.... I had a look through and little did I know that there was this ballsy little snowman holding firm in the ground... (the one thing I obviously missed when moving the abundance of plant pots) He got very lucky!
  3. I've got a sequoia and only been doing it a little while! Great piece of kit! And not ridiculously over priced at the moment! The clips are sound, the story must have been someone who was too silly to realise you need to clip them together when you climb Tbh a lot of the kit is how it feels with you, after 10 months or so I know a lot of people in the industry are sheep and just follow what everyone else says us best! Hope you chose well dude
  4. Not the greatest picture but you get the idea, both finished
  5. Correct! Doing the one next to it tomorrow as well!
  6. Cheers mate, just picked it up watching the Boss!
  7. Yeah on phone randomly added it like that aha! I'm phone illiterate not computer
  8. Had some fun with this today without traffic management on the hideous A23 but well happy with the result!
  9. Mate I left Army and did the kingswood course, I just kept firing cv's to every job that was applicable really. If you're keen on the climbing side look for a trainee climber/ groundsman position, depending on your ability to learn and speed etc you'll be employed as a climber within a year of doing that
