  1. Likin the sound of that, but does the postage make it back up to UK prices?
  2. Thanks for that link Tony, I have been slipping the scabbard down the side of my spikes and It is more convenient to have the saw on your leg, so I'll see about getting one in the near future.
  3. Cheers Stephen, I'll see if I can source a spare scabbard first, but good to know the sawpod is rated.
  4. Cheers Matt, yeah I can't seem to find one online, shame they don't do spares, mind you if they did they would probably be quite pricey.
  5. Hello all, Anyone know where I can source a new scabbard for a 330mm zubat? Both the male and female clips have broken. Failing that, anyone got experience / opinions of using a sawpod?
  6. Is there any need to change the sprocket if you are changing the chain gauge?
  7. It's up to you what silky model you choose mate, it's personal preference some prefer straight blade over curved, lengths vary etc, good sharp saws that breeze through branches with ease. I haven't tried any other makes of pruning saws, hope this helps.
  8. Cheers Kev, I'm on the interest list with TKF, course is run on an interest basis so may be a while before they get a full class
  9. Hello all, Anyone know of any / can recommend training providers that run regular UA courses around Manchester? Require UA1 qualification for an employer, sooner the better. Thanks in advance

  13. Right ok, was worried that it was going to pull to one side / cause excess vibration or anything else. Just looks strange but good to know its ok. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Is the gap as big as the one in the picture? Had a look at a husky chain that I bought and couldn't make out a gap of any significance Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Got the kit and a reel of chain and I've made my first loop, not a lot of info on the Internet for the questions I have, and whilst a few YouTube videos show you the process they don't cover some things. Thought is put some questions out there and see if anyone can help. Made a loop 66 drive links, I have even cutters on the left and right hand side of the chain, however there is a substantial gap between cutters on the joins section. I could add another cutter in (providing it didn't bend under pressure of the chain breaker) however this would lead to an un even number of cutters on each side. Any tips would be gratefully received. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Yeah it's a bit of a catch 22 with the lack of experience and employment, don't want to be dragging brash for eternity, got some work tomorrow doing a bit of clearing and felling for a local estate, can't wait to get some saw time in. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  18. Cheers Kev, yeah it was just labouring I was doing, looking forward to learning more as the jobs become more varied as and when. Your right, there's always something to do so no time for standing around, but I like earning my wage, and didn't wait around to be told to chip or drag anything. Happy to have the work, hope it turns into something regular. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Thanks to everyone giving me their advice, got some work, boss offered me another day and hinted at the scope for starting to climb on small jobs, so a good hard days work today, loved it. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  21. Manchester tree station accept wood chip, they sell it on for biomass. I presume they would take logs too because they sell them too. Type the name in on google and you'll be able to get directions off their website Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
