  1. They are not essential, you can climb without them but they make it easier to climb and save your rope and the tree especially if you are going to climb the same tree and use the same anchor point.
  2. And a cambium saver, you can get one with two rings in or an adjustable one which is about the same price and a lot more versatile! http://www.frjonesandson.co.uk/products-page/climbing-equipment/climbing-kits/adjustable-cambium-saver-kit/
  3. You may be cheaper of just to but a 3m length of friction cord, cut it down to size and put fisherman loops in each end, as the £66 looks quite steep! This can also apply to your length of climbing rope, you can use any anchor knot and it will be cheaper! Also for the bag look around for rucksacks at go outdoors or other outdoor places or even ebay as I think go outdoors has a half price sale on but as you said you don't need much help on that!
  4. Looks good, maybe throw a deodorant van in the next time!!!
  5. Or, get both and be kinky!!!:)
  6. No, but a climbing kit wont help me watch TV!:laugh1:
  7. Hi, After my final exam on Wednesday I am finished going to school and in September I am going to Pershore college. And so I want to either buy a complete climbing kit, that OR a new full Hd TV. The TV is around £300 and the Kit, around, £400. I am leaning towards the climbing kit, but i'm not completely sure about it! And so my question is it worth me buying my own kit, will it be used in college and will it be any benefit? Will I be able to use it if i get a job as i know that I won't climb in a job for a long time so new equipment will have to be bought! But then when the time comes I should, should, be good at climbing and so be more inclined to be allowed to climb! And so: Should I buy the kit or go for the safer option and buy something else - or nothing at all! Thanks Jack
  8. You can get an iPad (or other, cheaper, tablets) as they are cheaper and a lot more versatile than laptops, or you can get windows surface which is windows 8 on a tablet. But this is quite expensive, £700 ish. You can then get a physical keyboard. This acts as a stand and you can lay the tablet face down onto the keyboard and this will protect the screen. And then as said before either write and send the email so it will be saved in the drafts or write it in a word processor.
  9. Thanks!!!

  17. Need a pair of steel caped boots for college this year. I am looking at this pair: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blackrock-Leather-Safety-Chelsea-Midsole/dp/B006ZIZL5A/ref=sr_1_3?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1370866728&sr=1-3 My brother bought the same pair and they look and feel decent. Has anyone else used these, or the brand? Are there any other boots that are any good as I only have a budget of less than 50 quid. Thanks Jack

That's is what I was thinking but I was thinking maybe in the top right in or around the woods as that is more out of site!

    Camping

Yea that's the problem, there is a nice area about 5 miles from where we all live where we did our DofE so might just try to find a quiet field as its just for the one night, maybe two at the Max!

    Camping

Me and about 8-9 friends want to camping in the summer holidays after we have finished are GCSEs. We want a fire and to be within walking distance of a shop. What is the best way to go about it, a campsite, we would really want to camp just in a field or forest and was wondering if that was even possible? And if so what places are there? We will all be 16+ and was wondering if that would be a problem without an adult there? Thanks Jack

  25. I think this should be posted in the repair forum!
