  1. I would stick with windows 7 as windows 8 is not designed for office work and takes a while to get used to. I guessing that you don't need a big hard drive or RAM so pretty much any model now will be fine. Post any ones that stick out to you and we can have a look.
  2. used the jigsaw as I had ply to cut, i just used the handsaw for the rest though and just checked the wood to find the nails! Thanks for the replys!
  3. I have a big pile of short, under a metre, some longer, 2 by 1 pieces of wood from a house and skirting boards that need to be cut for a neighbour. I have a saw-horse but on my own it almost impossible to cut with the chainsaw. Plus I risk ruining the chain, so I was wondering what is the best way to cut it. At the moment I am using a hand saw and the saw-horse but its taking me ages and my arms getting tired! Are there any quicker ways or tips on how to cut this type of wood? P.S I would stick it on a bonfire but the owner wants them cuts and i'm getting paid so.
  4. looks decent!
  5. Everyday he comes in from work and I am usually watching T.V. He will ask if i'm busy and i will reply yes. Everyday for the last couple of years!
  6. Hi my name is Jack Mitchell and I am looking to get some experience under my belt as I want to be a tree surgeon so I'm looking for a job in or around Northfield Birmingham. I am used to outdoor work as I am currently working on my Aunty's farm in Ireland for the week. I am currently in year 11 so looking for a weekend job or volunteer position in any company's looking to take me on. Any offers will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance! Thanks
  7. I use the arbtalk app on my nexus at home as it is much easier to use than the website, and this is the same on my blackberry. I could live without it on the blackberry as i only use it on my bb in school! Shhhhssss Could you leave tapatalk up and running or does it need a lot of maintenance? Great job on the website and apps, don't know how one man does it all!
  8. I was raised as an only child. Which really annoyed my sister! I was walk down the high street when I saw a poster in a shop that said "television for sale - 50p - volume stuck on full" And i thought, well i can't turn that down! I farted in a lift. Which was wrong on so many levels! I watched a show on discovery last night about how ships were put together: riveting! Me and my wife sat down last night to watch 3 films back to back. Lucky I was the one facing forward! http://www.conjunctivitis.com - now that's a site for sore eyes!
  9. That would make a lot of lazanas!
  10. I heard that it was written on the ceiling!
  11. I'm ashamed that i'm that gullible!
  12. Well if ever i was buying a chainsaw off of eBay i would look on the website just for the facts and would clearly see that that is too orange!
  13. How can you tell if a chainsaw is fake, not that the listing Is dodgy but the actual chainsaw, what are the tell tell signs. Apart from buying a new Sthil for £50 out of a van! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  16. What is the minimum age for getting a job at a tree surgery? I am 15 now and will be 16 in march and was wondering if I could work or even volunteer at the age of 16. And if so what could I do without any qualifications or experience? I know I can't be a climber! But what ground work could I do, could I use a chainsaw feed the chipper or just move the wood around, or nothing at all! Also what if any are the chances of getting a weekend job, or volunteering? Thanks Jack Mitchell
  17. For my passwords I use a sentence and then use the first letter or use phonetic spelling. Eg: For facebook Facebook is the worst site out there isn't it? To make: Fbitwsotii? It can be more complicated and you can use capital or symbols such as @ or # And change your password at least every six months. I also store all my passwords(because every site has a different password) in a google docs spreadsheet named to do list (not the actual name but I'm not going to tell you!) Because you don't want to but pssst all my passwords are here. Plus I put it in a series of folders and not on my homepage! And if you do use one password for your email and bank then don't use it on un trusted sites, or use simple random password, like pencil. Hope that helps, and hope you change your passwords!

Good old golden syrup! Normally I would have pancakes every Saturday if I could be bother to make them!
  20. Just hope your not in my class, calling yourself a peado and encouraging someone underage to drink! Tut, tut, tut. Well because it is a specialist course most of us should have something in common, trees. I can hardly talk to my friends about trees now as I don't think the they would find it as interesting as me!
  21. I would rather work harder for two years than wait for three. Want to start working ASAP!
  22. Not at all, I'm getting more excited the more that I look into it! And yes the college do do the 'short courses' plus everyone else in my course will be wanting them so there will be a easy way to get them. Will have a look for the books. Thanks for all of the great responses! They have been a great help! Glad I found this site!
  23. Yea because looking at the course you learn most of the tickets, you just don't get the qualifications, but like you said I can just do the tests! Thanks!
  24. Thanks on record now!
  25. Its great so far and I am just about starting to understand some sources of the profession!
