  1. Nice, Iam down south so don't know Haarlem really well, wich company did you work for ? Bleekemolen, maybe ?? You worked with Alex ? Great and def some nice and big populars indeed ;-)
  2. It took a day with 2 climbers to prune it, with nice coffee breaks in between, gotta love SRT access ;-) makes the coffe breaks better. On the pic my mate is on, last in the row we trow a line up in the branch we couldn't reach safely from out the tree and made from the ground a anchor point in wich he could traverse to this particulary branch. I have pruned some bigger popular trees over here but never ever had to use 2 redirects, this cause of the widely spread out crown structure, the images don't quite capture what it's like in real, like allways. ;-)
  3. Ok, here they are. - double redirect - tree before and after pruning - my mate up in the tree
  4. The whole tree we pruned about 10 to 15 % crown reduction. The last part, in the pic, was above a greenhouse and did some more reduction over there. I will search for the series with the whole tree and post some more in time. And indeed is was fun, pulley saver installed in the top, and two redirects and still a far way out to get to the part where my mate took a pic. One of the bigger popular trees I have pruned over here.
  5. here's on of my favorits
  6. that it is
  7. it is as you use it with a echo gas powered drill in it, at least thats what I got for quick winch action, Steven has got a battery high torque drill from metabo. So you have multiple options to make it versatile But your right, it isn't a real powered winch, sorry for the derail....
  8. The thing about these devices is they never pull what I want them to pull ;-) therefor I use the smart rigging winch for pull over trees and lifting branches and logs and all the rest I just have to deal with my landcruiser and a bunch of blocks ;-)
  9. NZ has lots of grevelroads wich are easy to drive with a 2wd ;-) We drove some subaru's over there for the DOC in Turangi where I did an internship way back in '97 And for the offroad parts we had a toyo hilux ute. Great country with some nice trees, want to visit it again in the future.
  10. Ok, a friend of me is very enthousiast about his Iveco 2 WD...... But a good point to mention, makes the choice easier for Treepanda I guess
  11. Def no transit, worst cheap van ever made, totally no traction on wet surfaces, lots of noise and to less power to tow anything heavy. Rusty like a steel bike in salt water. Get a Iveco daily, Mercedes Sprinter, Volkswagen LT or just the best there is a descent Landcruiser 100 ;-) forget about the last one, it's only for the real 4x4 enthousiasts like me. Got to drive a Transit between my old landrover and new landcruiser and I was so happy to give that service car back after some months of troubled driving and getting stuck almost everywhere the tormac ended. But just choose whatever meets your demands and fits your wallet and hope you are happy with it cause there are more reviews as cars and what one person hates the other loves, just like with arborist, you can not get them all agreed on the same issue ;-) Good luck
  12. Def some nice vids Wolter ;-)
