  15. I run a double cab convoy (04) and its cracking. Starts everytime, cheap to run and insure, and it carries its weight well. I try to keep it as clean as possible, so looks relatively smart, although does need new tipping sides. Its a shame it has the reputation, but in all honesty i dont really care. I does the job and if you do a good job as well it is irrelvant. Id check that it was mechanically sound and then go for it mate!

  18. A client of mine has a large quanity of mainy Oak and Alder firewood that they need gone asap. I havent seen the wood or the site, but have been told theres roughly 80m3. Timber is either cut to 4ft lengths or rung up to roughly 1ft rings. Im unsure on access, on google maps I think you could get an bulker in, but my client is unsure. PM me if you are interested with your details and Ill pass them on. Many thanks
  19. It is standard practice in my area, North Dorset and I have always paid or quoted by volume, keeps everything fair. Further the distance or trickier the timber the more it costs per metre to extract. The volumes should be stated on the felling license, so you should roughly know what will be coming out, so you can work it out from there. This only changes for very small volumes, ie less then 15 cubic metres for example. If we get asked to do felling work, we are noramlly paid a cubic metre rate to fell and extract.
  20. I pay or charge roughly between £7 and £11 per cubic metre to extract to roadside. The machines I noramlly require a min volume. As many have also said it also depends on extraction route and ground conditions. I have heard of prices up to £21 a metre for a long tricky extraction. It maybe that the extractor may even take the wood as full or part payment. Where abouts are you?
  21. Need someone to come in an extract a small quantity of timber from a wood. All timber under 10" is stacked, and everything is cut to 2.3m Haul is rouhgly 200m. Wont be a whole days work for a competant driver, but willing to pay extrs to get it done. Could have future work in area, as I have been let down. Cheers Leo
  22. I need a new tip for a 24" husky bar. I seen replacements before but not sure where to buy them. Tried my local dealer but think it maybe a dead end Cheers Leo
