  1. Ill give you different, But not pants! My 200 was definitely more responsive/powerful down low, so was good for adjust a little gob cut etc, where as the 201 has to be higher in revs or it just bogs down. But when it's in the high rpm, I find it has plenty of umph! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Got mine beginning of the year, it's been great! They take a few tanks of fuel before they bed in, and are a bit slow to pick up when they're all tight. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  6. so sorry to hear someone else has been hit There is just so much of this about at the moment Our yard is on a farm and you have to pass both farm houses (full of angry farmers with shotguns!) to get to our yard. but....... somehow I still doubt its enough, if they want it, they'll get it. Best form of security these days is bloody good insurance.

  13. Hi Everyone, I posted a while back asking if anyone could offer me some work in order to gain some experience.http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/50972-experience-work-full-set-kit.html Things have moved on! I have gained quite a bit of experience since my last post, I now have my cs30/31 and have my cs38 booked for march and as soon as i can afford it will do my cs39 (tickets are expensive!) Full, clean uk (non b+e) driving license. Have more Kit! better ppe etc! I am still trying to find someone willing to offer me some part time work and teach a young enthusiastic, dedicated climber. Anything! I am self employed so I'm flexible, happy to work on an as and when basis. Im very happy to do a trial day for free! and or meet up before hand so you could decide if i might be of use! Im based in berkhamsted hertfordshire, But i can travel. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I know there are a million threads just like it! but,I really wont give up on what i want to do.

  20. I thought this until I spoke to a couple of assessors. The way I understand it, they used to be able to pass people if they deemed them, safe and competent. But now under the new standards ( because cs30,31, etc no longer exist!) has to be based allot more on the test sheet, rather than just on ability. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. I thought this would be the case. Started having visions of turning up to prune Mrs Does pride and joy apple, and HSE turning up! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Had exactly the same idea! Have only been climbing for about a year and I'm finally getting better with a throw line! I use the cradle technique, used to burn my fingers, but don't seem to much anymore. I find that I can't throw over anything if I wear gloves. And as for tangled in twigs..... Well I'm on my 3rd throw bag, and have rescued my cambium saver at least twice ! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Just done mine dude Just chill take it easy and don't stress, most of the assessors are sensible guys. Legal constraints. It just means, that in certain situations you may need to take into account for permission to fell on certain sites/trees etc. Example, tree with TPO you must apply to the council before you can carry out the work. Wildlife, just say " nesting birds and bats etc" ! Conservation acts, areas of natural beauty and or natural interest are all sort of self explanatory. Just take your time, they know your new to it all. they just want to see safe, confident work. Good luck dude Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. Had no idea HSE are private organisation now This may sound stupid, but do HSE mainly involve themselves with larger firms on bigger sites? Or do the "target" us domestic sector guys aswell? I know of them and what they do, but have never had dealings with them.... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
