  1. GreenMech CS 100 with the engine would be ideal. Should be able to find a used one for around that much but worth considering stepping up and getting brand new/dealer demo. At least you'll have he benefit of full warranty, know it hasn't been abused or stolen etc. The 16hp manual start retails a shade over 4k plus the vat. If your intending to keep the Machine for several years buying new can sometimes work out cheaper!
  2. The GM machines are built much better than the old ones In my opinion and there's plenty of old ones kicking around still out working.
  3. Would be interesting to get the specs of the Forst and GM bearings.... you can have put an overkill bearing in to make the sales brochure look Better...
  4. Doesn't really build a case that though. Mainly cause that high end car is only available to a select lucky few rather than two chippers over the 30k mark
  5. Can buy a SafeTrak for that... Hehe
  6. getting the balance between having a compact machine and service space is always going to be hard. However the GM I think is pretty easy to service, get all the panels off as there designed to and servicing isn't to bad atall. make it any bigger and you will also start pushing over 750kg.
  7. I will be coming up so if anyone needs a lift from the areas in my sig then drop me a PM. can take 3 additional passengers comfortable or 4 at a push. Ash
  8. a little hand winch and ramps would work well. I often stick a demo CS in the back of my pickup rather than towing it on my 16ft Ifor Williams!
  9. Mason wood chippers. speak to Alan
  10. Depends on what type of PTO machine you have. There is some small machines on the market with very narrow infeed chutes which makes for a lot of work. The CS100 is a letter box feed and 300mm x 100mm at the drum
  11. GM's official video of it [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aDPz98vqEY]GreenMech CS 100 Wood Chipper - YouTube[/ame]
  12. Sounds like you've made your mind up already! we have many small local authority, private and golf clubs that just use them for tidy up work, similar to your needs. Once the drum grabs the material it'll sort its self out generally. If you haven't already watch a couple of youtube videos.
  13. The CS100 is available in three options 16 hp manual start 18hp electric start PTO drive its a cracking little machine for what it is, but please don't buy a CS100 PTO and stick it on a 100hp tractor haha. The CS100 really fits the market of chip the brash/crappy stuff and keep the decent stuff for logs. where are you based?
  14. sounds like a cracking deal! what hours are on it, does it have a winch fitted too?
  15. If it's just something really small jammed/stopping the engine crank you also have the option of putting a decent sized screw driver or similar through the end of the drum shaft and turn the lot over by hand. Just need to pull the belt guard cover off to do it.
  16. Drop it to idle rather than flat out.
  17. Yeah just run it out for a minute after use. Just pretend your cooling the turbo down after use haha.
  18. worth pointing out that having a main dealer based on the island could save you a fair amount of money over the life of the machine. Think everyone will agree that any type of machine will break down at somepoint but having to get the boat over to you may be costly and not a speedy service. GM is -750kg which maybe a big factor for you? Worth checking to make sure your going to be 100% legal if purchasing a Forst at near on a tonne and remember to factor in having a full load of material, people and any other kit you may carry. I had to do my trailer license and run a Tacho so I can move bigger stuff behind my Isuzu D-Max...
  19. Ok, so R Hunt being the new local dealer for you then. I've got several different customers running QuadChip's and no tow bar issues with them. I spoke to Keith from hunts the other week and maybe able to have a dealer on there demo unit...
  20. good work! was expecting it to come back into view again...
