    Absolutely gutted

Well what a day! It was a good funeral, standing room only. A well respected man. People came from up and down the country and getting near 150 people. Got a bit emotional when his wife said how much he respected me. As said he was a great man and will be sadly missed!
  3. Sounds a good meal plan. Sunsets been a bit grey here, raining now. Still bloody warm though!
  4. Did Pete get naked! Thankfully I missed that
  5. I have to say I've not had a problem with it compared to other harnesses. I seem to be less damp with it than anything else

Cheers fella. Found a old set of his work uniform that I'd kept for some reason, it got to me more than I thought it would. Probably because I know I'll never wear it again!

Don't know if you're interested, but the funeral is on Tuesday in Waddington. If you know anyone else that knew him you can tell them as well

Cheers fellas. Some of the biggest jobs I've ever done were with him. He was a good man and will be sadly missed. My heart goes out to his family

Yeah. I remember him getting it all. Helped him install it and set up. I even helped build the building its housed in. He wasn't that old at all!

That's the one. He still did the Christmas trees but was heavily dedicated to the cider business

Yeah not to bad cheers. Don't think it's really sunk in yet. He used fell trees up Scotland back in the day. Doing thinning and clearings before they had all the "big" machinery he knew how a tree needed to be removed whether it be climbed or felled, even though he never climbed himself. As a sideline he had a Christmas tree plantation, and also started producing cider using local apples. It's a very good tipple
  12. Just heard some sad news. Just heard that a work colleague of mine has died! His name was Mick Creighton, and has been working in the industry since the 70's. I've been working with him on and off for 14 years and he became like family. He taught me a lot about felling big trees and his experience will be well missed. My thoughts go out to his family! R.I.P Mick
  13. From what I've been told ( not sure whether to believe it though ) it depends on the age of the hen for double yolkers. I believe it was the first 3-4 months of laying

    New harness

I got told about the buckles when I was buying my last harness by my local dealer. I got a tree motion. When I put it up on here no one believed me and thought my dealer was just trying to get more money out of me. I was using a butterfly also before hand, and it's a dam sight better. Worth the money imo
  15. Fair enough. If I was going down that route I probably would, but that's just me airing on the side of caution! Then again it's surprising how many times you get asked if you need electric on domestic jobs, but that would most likely change if we actually did!
  16. Edit- double post
  17. Is your boss going to put inverters in the van for on site charging?
  18. Best fish and chips in the country imo. Even the crap chippys in Whitby are good
  19. It does indeed. I think the narrow chain helps in many ways. As the saws go there spot on just need lighter batteries now, not that there heavy! Just think they could get lighter
  20. Looks good! Only used the back handle version, and it's surprising what they can cut
  21. Been crap today! Fortunately I had the day off, so couldn't complain at all really. Apart from trying to move house. Hope your well Paul
  22. Best thing I did was buy a hitch climber (and some sort of friction saver) I've been climbing since 2000 and took me years to progress as I got stuck in my ways climbing on the basics. There's still a place for having a good knowledge of a/the basic system though. So in answer to your question get both or/and a prussic loop, and practice on any system you can
  23. Nice one Paul👍 Glad you've had a good week with your bro, and happy belated birthday. Nowt better than meeting up with family when you haven't seen them
  24. I'm off to the land of nod. Good night all and have a good day tomorrow
  25. Fair enough. I usually hate hire machines as their not up to standard usually (blunt blades etc ). Try find someone with a pto chipper locally and that should suit your needs. That's if you can get it near the job
