You can get more on there than you think and only takes 2 or 3 mins to fork off, so if yr chip site is very local it can work. If you have to take the chip any distance then its a non starter. A trailer can work. Like i say, its just a temporary measure until you get something permanent sortedTo be honest, every job I have anything to remove I hire a ifor Williams tipper trailer with high sides, works grand but it’s cost on every job! Hilux is a crew cab, and it would be seriously un-cost effective to have to go shovel it out 4/5 times a day [emoji23] I know I’ll be over loaded weight wise with any tipper, but more just questioning the towing capabilities of both regarding dragging a tracked machine on a plant trailer around. I was always told Ford parts are fairly deer compared to something like an iveco? -
Can always keep it as a 4x4 option should you need itMake a good job with alloy planks and it will grow on you plus you will easily sell that when time comes. K- 1

If you're looking for budget then go for the transit, parts and repairs are alot cheaper. I would consider putting greedy boards on your hilux until you've saved more money. On the odd occasion you need more space you can hire.In the market for a tipper, I’ve come to the conclusion that putting a chip box on my mk3 hilux will ruin a lovely truck [emoji23] I’m not looking at spending big money (£5/6k roughly)
Basically everything that falls within my budget is usually a Ford Transit or an Iveco Daily. Last tipper van I had for a company was an 08 crewcab transit and I thought it was grand, no frills but just a workhorse. Are the Dailys a better “arb” tipper conversion-I’ve been told that the towing capacity of the daily is higher than a transit, not sure whether to get a tracked chipper or tow behind yet (again, budget dictated!) and would like something that can tow a plant trailer without being stupidly over the limit.
Any help or advice much appreciated!- 1

Do they still do large tree fell? I heard they had stopped doing it.I meantioned earlier abt x3 bar cuts in another thread. After a few of those, thought about doing Large Tree Fell, asked assessor if worth it ? He said " how many you done already? ( abt 20 by then) well, i have done 4 and one of those was simulated. I wouldnt bother" this was when it was 800 quid to do [emoji50] K -
Though i have never tried it, i would have thought by the time you fill a tyre, you could have split the logs.
Don't worry about a blunt splitting axe, it need not be sharp- 1

Lucky that stem you knocked over did not reach those 2 logs and catapult it into space[emoji23][emoji23] I'll bet it was further away than it lookshttps://www.instagram.com/p/CHqHDaHsR4w/?igshid=uykrle8xddtw
Fir removal, wood stays for their burner, I’m not arguing.
Ps. Don’t know why IG won’t load on here.- 1

Defo want it sharp then[emoji6]Yes most likely because i don't require a splitting Axe! it's for Clearing branches off whacking wedge etc and not so clumsy as a felling axe!- 2

Yesterday fuel cap and air filter cover came off and lost on same site, only there for hour or 2. Never had fuel cap come off before nor does my air filter cover come off often.

We go mountain biking around that area, camp up the road from Rhandirwyn. What a beautiful part of the country that is. Been going there for 35+ years.I'm in llandovery, mid Wales, we're lucky to be in a rural area at the moment. It's not bolted to the floor but the stanchions it's on are heavy enough that it doesn't move and it's got slots for pallet forks if we need to move it anyway.
The sheds one we've just rebuilt for storing firewood but we're doing a bit more milling recently so it's set up in the corner. I was tempted by the 130max but it was a lot cheaper to strengthen this one for now for the small amount we do.- 1

Monkey Puzzle has to be the ultimate hate tree, but pretty much most spikey trees like acacias.

A small amount of arb waste that size i would suggest is worth about £25 per ton depending on access.

I know, its disgusting for doung f allFunny enough I thought it was the IPhone waving ciggarette smoking vodka drinking cocaine addled online gambling "parents" who starved their children to feed their various addictions.
P.S.
Our son worked in a Belfast PO and knows the shocking amounts of cash paid out to indivdual claimants in benefits each week.- 1

Absolutely, just because 'they can afford it' does not mean you should put your prices up.Irrelevant; it's supply and demand and what the competition is.
If your Unique Selling Point is that you stack the logs artistically and you are in great demand then you can jack up your charges for stacking or delivering at weekends and you keep the customers because they are loyal to your brand, over do it and it let's someone else in who undercuts you.
BTW I too work in a wealthy area and in the last six days I have worked in gardens of houses none of which could be bought for less than £4M but I doubt it has made the chap I work for any more than a modest suburban garden because there are dozens of "tree surgeons" working locally.
We charge £10 per meter to stack, if it has to be carried a considerable way then we usually charge more. -
Atlas came straight to my mind

I quite agree with that Pete, people who buy stolen kit are as guilty as the person who stole it.
