  1. Hello guys I have just completed a huge job up in Milton Keynes right near junction 13 on the M1. And I was wondering if anybody that knows the area could tell me where I could dump all the wood chippings as the chipping will probably take a couple of days to do as it will be at least 2 van loads. Thanks guys:001_smile:
  2. Difficult to say really, conifers-particularly Leylandi are very shallow-rooted and can cause damage to paths (ect) Also they can damage lawns by robbing them of water. Also they dont regrow from stumps so I would recommend cutting them down completely particularly if the ground is clay because as the roots absorb water it will cause the clay to shrink and crack.
  3. I know what you mean, collecting and returning the machine is a nightmare. Thanks anyway m8, thats something I never thought of.
  4. Hi all does anyone know where I can hire a 6inch Timberwolf 150 chipper cheaply in the Sussex or Surrey area? The cheapest quote I have had is £164 for the day with a £300 deposit upfront. Any cheaper places.....? Thanks guys:001_smile:
  5. Well done mate, good luck on the 31. Remember to keep out of the danger zones when felling and you will be fine.

Hi all being as I am new to the industry I am a bit unsure on pricing certain jobs. Could somebody please tell me roughly what the going rate would be to fell this silver birch? As you can see from the photo the access to it is good. Thanks hope the picture comes out!!!!
  13. Garlon is very effective, if you can locate the main stem, cut it at the base and apply it neat to the stump with a paint brush. The only downsides are that you need a PA6 to buy it and its £200 a bottle. But you get what you pay for.
  14. Reasons why I hate them is that they are difficult to climb and they make your skin itch. Also I found a wasps nest in one once so could not finish the job properly.
  15. lol that happened to me last year, lost quite a bit of money on that one
