  1. Regarding yesterdays post I have discovered that using my tape sling as a foot stirrup holds me perfectly in place when I am cutting sections off branches which makes things a million times easier. How stupid can one get! Novices honestly!
  2. I have my main anchor point high up in the tree and a secondary anchor point on the branch above the one that I am working on. I just need advice on the best strop and secondary anchor point positions to get in order to be able to work comfortabley.
  3. hello guys just a quick question, I have reciently passed my cs39 and I was wondering how anybody else positions their anchor points for branch cutting as I still find it extremely uncomfortable to hold the saw and to stop myself from moving slightly while cutting. Any help would be great. Thanks

    Cs39

Thanks! The cut I find the hardest is the "sink drop cut" because of the awkward positions I had to get into to carry it out!

  9. great advice guys thanks, some trees such as Robina tend to all have sloping branches aswell as some oak trees. I need more practice!
  10. Could anyone give me any advice on walking on branches that slope upwards? The level ones are easy its just the sloping ones I find hard. cheers

  12. Does anyone else find it extremley hard to climb a leylandii hedge to reduce its height? Got to be one of the hardest trees to climb in my eyes:blushing:

  15. Has anyone ever used the big shot throw bag catapult? If so would you recommend it?
  16. Got my throw bag stuck high in the branches of an oak tree today and I had to climb up to get it. How ironic is that! lol!
  17. Yes I believe its new and just come in as part of the assessment:thumbdown:

  19. Thanks very much for the info which is great, the bit that got me was setting up the actual belay on the ground with the munter hitch. Instructions would be really helpful. Many thanks for your time. Dan
  20. Had my cs38 assessment today which went really well up to when I had to do the belay rescue from the "pole" which I could not remember how to do, which in turn caused me to fail. Can anybody tell me how to set up the belay rope system? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
