  1. me 3, can't get on chat at all. Laptops a bit rubbish though.
  2. look similar to the ones in a thread is was reading a couple of months ago when i was buying my first spikes. if they are the arbortechnish (or something) ones then i would leave well alone - there were storys of them snapping while people were up trees and generally falling to peices. in the end i bought some new bashlins and are proper quality. think they cheapest off the honey bro's website
  3. if its all ranging from 5 - 14 inch diameter i would say around 10 or 12 per ton felled snedded and stacked

Currently working with another lad but only really does small scale stuff - looking for full days hard work on larger trees! CS 30/31/38/39 chipper, strimmer, mewp, manual handling, hedge cutter. Clean driving license (doing trailor soon) with car for transport ND in forestry and arboriculture self employed with - climbing kit, couple of saws and other bits and peices. experience over the past year or so since leaving college with tonnage forestry, climbing, groundy and 'garden work' PM for details

    need a saw?

stumbled on this on ebay, looks like it's going cheap and would make a nice saw for someone it looks abit like a jonsered version of the husky 242 jonsered 2041 chainsaw | eBay I've already got a jonsered 2149 so would have no use for it otherwise i'd have it i reckon!
  10. i hate cutting monkey puzzle, the sap is like glue and sticks the bar asif it's constantly being trapped! the wood's nice though. nice vid
  11. now then, quite like having a second saw at the moment and i was going to sell when i had enough money to buy a big saw, so sorry mate not for sale just yet. maybe in the near future though (next couple of months)

    Cheers

  12. Personally, i would much rather cut my forearm than fall out a tree!

  15. i wonder if there could ever be an instance where the chipper would feed itself up the tree
  16. Good idea doing this, are you doing the BTEC national? if so you have a work experience module to complete half way through the course anyway! Just had 2 mates go to myerscough to do forestry degree, good luck.
  17. When i did my ND (finished this year) the first years funding was free where i did my 30 and 38 but then when the conservatives came in i had to pay for the additionalities in the second year whereby i did 31 and 39. also depends how old you are, some lads on my course were 16 when they started and got there second year funded as well. Not sure about if you're not at college doing quals though.
