  1. Awesome LOL:thumbup1: And the log sales are starting to run now, bring it on!!
  2. Seconded, Robins a top guy and very helpful! :001_smile:
  3. As the title says, looking for maybe 100 - 200 of dry quality logs, the nets must be decent sized and quality. We need these are we are flat out and need these as a buffer to keep up with demand until we get sorted. We are in the North East, pm me or give us a bell with what you can offer please, cheers:001_smile:
  4. Ours are just tarped in vented bags and seem to be doing niceley, customers are all happy too, thank god!!
  5. Just delivered in today to our yard, two wagon and trailer load of last years silver birch in processor size 6' long and no more than 8" diameter. How I wish he had some more.........£31.50 + vat per tonne delivered in Result for us there, as it was dry and less than 22% m/c, miracles do happen!!
  6. True, but you dont and wont get it every day mate...........more is the pity.
  7. Well at the end of the day chaps I guess how a price and value my business is down to me. I realise some people will do it for in my opinion nothing, but as Nick Channer pointed out a tractor and hedge cutter will operate for £25 ph, fair do's but I know 10 people with the "popular" equipment for hire, I dont know of many processors in the area. I think to pay in the 10k region for a mobile outfit that you are not going to work everyday in reality justifys a decent reward. As has been pointed out £20 per bag maybe sounds a lot, also mentioned if the wood comes at the right price it leaves a very good profit. I got another booking to process 200 tonnes today so it works for some if not all. We sell logs too, but I'm buggered if I am going to bray away with an axe all day for a few quid, but I filled 4 m/3 bags in under an hour tonight and thats good for me. We negotiate good prices for good customers but I will just close with the final word from me on this. I will not work for nothing period. I pay all the same most of you do, insurances, tax, vat, running costs, and but the best gear I can afford which hopefully gets me repeat work time after time.
  8. Thank god for a sensible answer,
  9. Oh please, knock another £30 off for fuel realistically if doing 18-20 cube then leaving £95 then, fuel and travel time to site say £20, vehicle wear and tear, insurance, income tax, need I go on. You cannot seriously think this is worth doing..can you???
  10. There is a clear winner on that deal, he will be left with around £30 profit a day, pointless in my opinion.
  11. Hi We have been making good pace with our new processor, so we have been filling m/3 bags on a per unit basis for a guy near us and feel able to offer this to others now. BUT this is on the understanding the wood is a 8" max diameter and stacked sensibly and there is a forklift or handler and someone to keep us fed with bags. We bring the processor with 1 operator and a labourer to pass the wood to the machine, just pm me or give us a bell if your interested. Like I say a few constraints but its working well for us at the moment, any takers?? We travel......but travel fuel at cost to you, we fuel the processor:thumbup1: £20+ vat per bag filled we are looking for, does that sound fair to you lot??
  12. Still Looking.............
  13. Sent you an email Dave, cheers
  14. I think I will have a ride up, see whats occurring.......
  15. As the title says, could do with a load of larch in processor size ideally a max diameter of 8", windblow would be good also. Delivery to DL8 5DD, pm me or give me a bell if you have owt... cheers
  16. Best we found are from: BAG Supplies :: Packaging Suppliers covering the UK, Europe and North America
  17. We sell 90% softwood now, and just pass any diehard hw customers onto a local guy who sells a bit, saying that we could use a load or two of processor size silver birch - for the other 10%....
  18. where are you based mate??
  19. Very cheap, a right bargain for someone local to him!!
