  1. It is mate, should bag it for rabbit owners..........
  2. Thats good advice and well received, its easy to push the thing too hard with the big stuff that it can cope with more than me, I aint 20 any more.........doing nice hardwood tomorrow, all 6 - 8" silver birch in 4' lengths with a assistant so should be great, but when you get something new you always want to "see what it can do" until something breaks and then your p***ed off. All in all very happy with our purchase, just as well considering the price but you get what you pay for I guess.... Thanks for your input!!
  3. So we got our new Hakki Pilke 2xs+ Carry delivered the other day so its done 1 full day yesterday and a couple of loads for us and out again for a full day tomorrow. I did both softwood and hardwood yesterday, up to its max capacity of 10" although its supposed to be 13" but that causes issues, dont ask. The machine has a 13hp Honda GX engine and double splitting rams with 2 / 4 splitter as standard and a 4 meter conveyor. I was very pleased at how it performed, the only thing that let it down was the operator as I had a couple of jams due to not doing the final split on the foor controls and a thrown chain both due to me not looking what I was doing. It can handle a 10' feed length if you can lift one on that is, the feed conveyor works good and you can move it around by hand to position it (but the ground wants to be concrete or very hard and flat) as any stones or ruts and your gonna struggle. Our astravan pulls it well on the road and it seems stable and weighs just under a ton and is braked also. The battery master key dropped out and got lost, typical but other than that all is good. The key is to make sure you have another pair of hands to keep production to the maximum as I was solo and the machine operator was enjoying his day, the laborer was not as happy due to the 26 degrees and bright sun. Also the hitch it comes with is crap, not even a locking type so upgraded that straightaway to an avonride lockable, not secure really but a good deterrent I reckon.... Will post a picture later of the log pile, if anyone wants anymore information just ask and I will try to answer if I can.......or they can hire it
  4. Thanks for the reply mate, yeah I kind of figured around £3.20 for the softwood. We fill them full up as well. They are for a garage so they will leave a fair markup for them looking at the prices they are charging for the nets with 6 small logs in at £4.50. Amazing that people buy these when there are people doing far better value for money, convenience I guess!! Thanks for the reply...
  5. We have been asked to quote for softwood logs in nets, our nets are 800 x 450 so what would be a sensible fair price to ask for these, had a trawl round but the opinions seem to vary so lets go.............what do the experts think?? Thanks
  6. Will do mate, prob be sat as am flat out with stuff, cheers

  7. Hi We had an order drop through (after the payment never showed up) for an 8 wheeler load of split softwood with around 25% m/c, not sure of the actual cubic meter of the 8 wheeler but will check and edit later, you could net em up - sell them at "superstore" prices and make a fortune..........if you like netting logs that is!! Serious inquiries by PM please, cheers:thumbup:
  8. Just beaten palletways down to a good price, all sorted so thanks fellas...
  9. Well our new 2xs+ carry gets delivered tomorrow, not cheap though!!
  10. Would be looking for about 20 - 25, do you wanna pm me some more details cheers
  11. As the title says, we are looking for some of the IBC crates for logs. We dont want the actual container but we are struggling to find any, any leads anyone?? Would sure be appreciated as we are running short on storage......
  12. My thoughts too, county did you get my PM?
  13. Hello and Good Morning Has anyone got any opinions on the best (and cheapest) couriers around to do us some pallet deliveries within the UK, we have just sold a rake of netted logs and need to get them shifted. Palletline seem ok at £46 per pallet but is there a better option in any ones opinion?? Awaiting a flood of replies and good suggestions..... AJR
  14. We sell them too, please have a look at our website Home - A&J Riddle - Woodfuels for more details and our hardwood will be listed in the next few days. Best Wishes
  15. Where you located mate and what sort of timber you looking to get processed, so I can give you an accurate quote.
  16. As the title states we are now offering our Hakki Pilke 2xS+ Carry processor for hire, this is charged on a day or half day rate and we will travel also. Please just contact me directly or through our website. This is a double splitter so gives good output depending on wood quality. We supply the machine and operator and either you can labour or we can supply an extra pair of hands, your choice but the faster we get the wood onto the machine the more we can process for you Here is a link from youtube showing an identical machine in action! 17. I know I said I would travel but thats a bit far for me even.........
  18. Well my brand new Hakki Pilke 2xs+ carry is available to hire also with operator in the Yorkshire Dales area as well but will travel further afield, should this be of interest just PM me or contact through our website!!
  19. Might have a name of a guy that could help for you if you want to PM me.....
  20. Only after you pointed it out.....
  21. Panic no. Having the forward thinking to prepare for next year yes, unless you know that you are going to be able to buy it cheaper next year due to the euro becoming strong, the US dollar even stronger and greece having a oil strike to boost their fading economy and are just keeping the source to yourself......
