  1. Ash reduction, look how nice my bum looks. Does this count as a lunge pose as well?
  2. I was talking about the first video - didn't see the other ones!
  3. I was going to say the same thing - nobody can go straight into a tree and climb like that from the get-go. Poncey show offs.
  4. Sounds good, but ooh I just can't decide between silver or black!
  5. Amen to that. Baked goods are my nemesis.
  6. I know speed is a factor but there are always alternatives to spiking retained trees. I work with two very experienced guys and they NEVER spike unless it's a take-down, and more to the point, they've never needed to! Yes, sometimes it's awkward as hell but that's part of the job. Why bother doing anything properly when there are almost always ***** shortcuts to do things quicker? Do the job properly, not lazily.
  7. Oh yeah baby! I have worked with two female climbers, one was our lead climber for a while. Never once did I have reason to consider the fact she was a woman other than thinking to myself 'I'd better pull my finger out, she's showing me up'! Brilliant in every way - if the work was getting too heavy she'd cut smaller lumps and if a very large saw was needed one of the guys took over when she was completely shagged, which would happen anyway if a climber was exhausted and fatigue was taking over. She taught me most of what I know and I thank her for it - she's missed in the company.
  8. While we're talking spikes, does anyone have any suggestions to stop the footplate slipping back to your heel? I have to wear what I'm given (Haix Blue Ridge and Twisted Shank Buckinghams), and I can't come up with a quick way to solve this. I can't be dicking around with anything long-winded. Any ideas?
  9. to use instead of the skylotec for pruning jobs Are you saying you have more than one harness, and which one you wear depends on the job???
  10. I wear my wp harness for mewp work as I occasionally like to get out and do a bit from the harness. If we have a lot of big trees to work on, the mewp can be used just for quick crown access for the climbers. So they are in their wp harnesses anyway. I know we all do it but I'm sure I remember from my MEWP course that you're strictly not allowed to leave the bucket as pendulum forces when you're out on your rope can affect the stability.
