  1. if you'd of asked, 4 weeks ago i had 3 massive chilli plants growing in my kitchen window with some fair big chillies on, they got an infestation of some sort and lost all their leaves, they now are potted in my garden trying to recover Red spider mite, outdoors is good but sun scorch may finish 'the plants off...
  2. Hi guys, i need to do a thin and light reduction on a fairly large Mirabelle plum (Approx 25 feet) I'm thinking after the blossom is finished. Any input gratefully received...
  3. I saw recently that, in order for more spectators to view the Olympic road race, a lot of trees have been removed along the route at Box Hill in Surrey. When I was in France a few years ago I saw large scale removal of branches Quoted as above. I grew up very close to boxhill, once did a job for a relative dragging yew cord off the hillside for him to sell to turners etc, thigh deep in mud while a welsh contractors machines heaped huge piles of historic bow makers yew onto a huge fire. Progress. Gr8 Britain...
  4. Let's see what the Führer has to say on the subject... Megaupload, never heard of it, never clicked that... I don't want stuff for free, I'd rather pay inflated prices to perpetuate the likes of Simon Cowell etc, ad nauseum... Hitler reacts to SOPA (Video) : theCHIVE
  5. On a serious note, I'm all het up about SOPA, as should any free minded individual be in this day and age... It'll be chip in the neck like a much love pet next, mark my words people.. No such thing as friendly fire... Power to the people!
  6. I love you and you're only 9 miles away, fancy a pint?
  7. Pretty sure I've seen many posts such as mine on here, however I am online a lot and could be mistaken... Sorry if I offended anyone, and by the way it seems wtf is still allowed? Don't have time to read all the rules as it time to stir the tagine but is pmsl also allowed? If so, pmsl...
  8. Wtf? Liberally used were the asteriskes, moderate it did make my language!
  9. Bump, listen up... No wikipedia for a day is the sharpest fine ground end of this satanic wedge, they're coming for us all, g** bless america
  10. SOPA/Blackoutpage - Wikimedia Foundation [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w6GtwOvnWM&feature=share]SOPA Cabana (by Dan Bull) - YouTube[/ame] This is wrong on so many levels... It's bye bye freedom of speech, hello to a law trying to govern/censor the web. Best of all, devised by the corrupt bush administration! {Which sounds kind of funny if you say it on here...)
  11. Just seen that site mentioned on this thread and the one re:frozen meals to last a week, cum on girlz indeed
  12. I didn't make the cuts that aren't next to my left foot btw, was dropping lots of lovely beech on my drive at the time...
  13. Yes, I'm a bit fat these days. Yes the husky trousers are well old. Yes I wasn't wearing proper boots... The saw is an 024, not really up to the job but the footpath is clear, and we have sh*tloads of logs to keep us toasty. I give you, former oldschool pro now hobbyist lunge!
  14. I just stumbled upon this thread Andy, I don't know you but may well know how you feel... My best wishes and thoughts go out to you mate, things'll perk up, they always seem to anyway. Be lucky (Luckier) Jay
  15. Long story short guys, I rarely do tree work these days but occasionally help out a gardener mate of mine if he's stuck. He was indeed stuck when this Beech blew down on the farm where he rents his home and landed on a public footpath which runs through the edge of a farmers field. I helped him dismantle back off the path safely and later helped myself to 4 ranger loads of cord (Only that due to space to store and the fact that me and the mrs spent all sunday morning barrowing the cord to the nearest hardstanding...) As it was a free for wood job for his landlord and we both have rear wheel drive pick ups... We both got stuck as did the postman who came for a nose... More details if interested, pics put up next if they work... I estimate the potential value at 500 squids as milling timber from my brief research, no real idea myself, but if I had bigger saws and a large 4x4 I wouldn't need firewood for years... You're all good lads, which one of you wants to mill it? IP11 postcode.
  16. Thanks for the input guys. It's the split dry log store near the house, other stuff goes in a not so pretty one at the bottom of the garden...
  17. It's finally finished, the log store built by me and my other half and her parents the Cravens. Ken is 80 and outworks and out thinks most I reckon. Some may know the name from his illustrious cycling exploits. Anyway, here it is. A thing of beauty approx 8'x4'x4'. All timber scavenged except one 3x3 fencepost, felt was waste from another job. Had to buy one box of screws and a tub of fence stain...
  18. Years ago I was cutting a blacktorn hedge, and a branch under tension from my ladder pinged out and hammered a thorn into the side of the knuckle of my left little finger. There it sat as a dark speck too deep to did out for at least a year. The speck subsequently moved gradually over the next couple of years and ended up swelling painfully at the inner base of my index finger, which is where my GP cut it out from. By now it was a gristly white ball aroung 3-4 mil diameter, I believe the doc said it was called an occlusive cyst, the gristle having formed aroung the tiny thorn tip to prevent further damage. Right, I'm off. All that has made me quite peckish!
  19. Surely you knew me when I was in my early 20s? I do indeed have a grey guitar and also wish I was Dylan. You just made me cry geez
  20. Yes mate. Climbed for around 16 years in Surrey, moved up here and ended up a "Hollywood docker" at Felixstowe for a decade. Mostly gardening and hedge work now, but still break out the 020 and climbing gear when the work is there. 44 now, not as bendy as I was!
  21. Hi all, been lurking for a long while now and thouroughly enjoy the forum. Thought I'd better climb on board...
