  1. Hi all ive just got a hitch climber pulley about half an hour ago. It seems very smooth. The problem is that because my rope doesn't have a spliced eye the knot I'm using(bowline) is rubbing against the the VT knot on the hitch climber. Is there anything I can do about this?
  2. This might sound stupid but why is Pollarding sorta frowned upon nowadays? How is it very different to coppicing apart from being done higher up on the stem?

  12. Ive only used western red cedar and have done it both ways but i found you got a better shingle radially, but i suppose it depends on the wood quality.
  13. Why do you vary the width of them? I just use them like i would if i was putting slates on with a similar lap.

  20. Do you use dried wood when making the chopping boards, or can it be fairly green? What do you use flatten them? Chisels, planes....?
