  1. say 45m then, at £6/m that's £90/person/day. If you intend to pay tax, insurance etc that does not leave you with a lot. Not criticising for the sake of it, just seems really quite low to me.
  2. I'd say you undercharged:001_smile:
  3. Daniël Bos

    Why?

Well, by the looks of that pic, they were all "done" at the same time, having been planted at the same time as well. More importantly though, they're all curving in the same direction. That leads to not many options in my head, bugs not being one of them. Human intervention, Avelange/Flash flood, hurricane or alien intervention. My monet is on human! Still not sure why though, shipbuilders do like a nice bit of curved timber, and I have seen a few examples of trees trained to curve in the desired way (some Turkish shipwrights hold trees "in traction" with ropes etc. to form timbers with multiple curves) but never softwood....
  4. Thanks Pete, will give them a call. I think I may have tried them before, and they were not up to supplying a full load but that may be my ancient mind playing tricks on me....
  5. Hi all, I'm after a good and reliable supplier of hazel stakes and binders for hedgelaying. I've used Edward Brun before from north-east Norfolk, but his prices are a bit steep and he's quite far from me. I'd be looking at an arctic load, (1500 stakes, 3000 binders or so) so though closer would be easier, they could travel a bit I suppose. I'm near Sleaford, Lincs. Any suppliers on here? or ones that you know of, prices, delivery cost??? Thanks, Daniel P.S. I'd like them yesterday...
  6. Just spoke to the moter-in-law after this thread popped up again yesterday. Sorry for the delay.. Her Dales came from a chap by the name of Claude Goby, of Swayfield. I'm afraid they've left Swayfield for pastures anew though, and we've no knowledge of where. Totally useless, sorry...
  7. but would it be £100 better, easier, more durable, more accurate and quick?
  8. I got that as well, I think it's awesome! I can't find out where it's from though, and that picture is the only one to be found on google when searching.
  9. Works to Dutch, but the translations are amusingly odd.
  10. you've made that look well easy! Satelite dish has moved a bit though....
  11. Is it a Lawson's Cypress?
  12. +1 I use one of these when at my dad's. Put 9 m2 of birch through one in an easy day with a really crap saw.
  13. What cheese do you need to lure a bear down a mountain? Come'on-bear! (Camambert) What did the cheese say to the mirror? Hallo me! (Halloumi)
  14. Is there anyone near there willing to go and have a look at it for me? I don't want to bid unless it's in mint condition, so if you could just check out the pages all turn freely, no bent corners etc. I'd pay you 10% of the final bid, wether I win it or not!
  15. Would it not be easier to attach a large helium balloon to the chipper when empty, then move it backwards when full? It'll save you having to refill it each trip:thumbup:
  16. Would it not be simpler to have the whole chipper at the front, and give it a sliding axle-set. You may even be able to use the chipper hydraulics to move the axle forward (to take weight of the towbar when empty) and backward.
  17. Some course providers will also provide you with all the kit you need, may this be the case? They'd normally charge you for hire of their kit though and you'd expect them to tell you that in advance? Good luck anyway!
  18. You need to learn from the Zohan!
  19. It worries me a little to think how much time you must've spent to get theses truely astonashing statistics:001_rolleyes: Are you alright Dave?
  20. +1, good stuff that! Works well:thumbup:
  21. I had a coolant hose busrt on me whilst going down the A1 to do some fancy woven fencing. Cut a but of hazel tat I was carrying on the roof, whittled it to size and fitted it in the hose. Then refilled the system with what bottles of elderflower squash my kids had left in the back of the car. It got me to the next services where I topped up with water, the wooden plug lasted about 6 months with very ocasional topping up.
  22. Would it work to use two sets of caravan ones? One for each wheel?
  23. Just had a look at that, looks a handy bit of kit. Does anyone know if this'll work for tuning saws? (Spud?)
  24. I left school at 16. I have no "A", "O", or other "levels". I have recieved no formal education since then. I live in a country that is not my own, and speak a foreign (to me) language, I've have lived here since 2004. Maybe it's because I live with a foreign language that makes me look at it more closely but I am often baffled by just how bad people's spelling and grammar is. The use of the word "of" instead of "have" (I would of....), the complete lack of punctuation and what often looks like a complete lack of effort.... I understand that there are medical conditions that mess with one's ability to read and write, but all the people I know with dyslexia (my cousin could still not read at 13!) either avoid words they are not sure of, put in massive effort to get it right, or get help. I don't mean to offend anyone, and those ebay "questions" are bang out of order, but to me it seems like most spelling and grammar misstakes are due to lack of effort. Re-read what you've just written, and again if you're not sure, use a spell checker! As far as "text-speak" is concerned, it should be banned in forums etc, like swearing. When I recieve a text like that I tend to ignore it.
