    Chain storage

Old Takeaway containers with lids. Marked with length and size and a generous bit of chain oil to keep them from drying. 3 - 4 chains in each depending on size. They can all be stacked reasonably neatly

  13. Agreed. Then that would mean springs. Mine were plenty bouncy enough empty just on the rubber. Put springs on it? At least the Sankey had some weight in them by virtue of their construction.
  14. I've never had this with any of my small trailers. Had bearings wear and wheels threaten to escape, never the whole unit.... Couldn't it be solved by having a "tab" welded on the inside so that the shaft can't be pulled through the tube?
  15. Good Morning Happy Hump-day Wednesday. Another week and month well on the way. Time flies when you are having fun!

  20. Not really. You have everything there you need to order a new chain and or bar. Typing 91P056X into google gives multiple vendors. As does 160sdea041 for bars.
  21. Good Morning Have a lovely day and a great weekend. Be Good
  22. Yes, the lighter mornings change my whole demeanour. Not scrabbling around the dark is quite lovely.
  23. Morning, brrr. Absent, Sorry. Early start and a long day in Swindon. Back to Berkshire today and a hopefully easy one. Be joyous, the weekend is nearly here!
  24. My 2p worth. If you buy new, you have provenance. You KNOW it has been maintained and had good oil/fuel. I have a 661 (purchased new 2019) and a 6 month old (when I got it 881 - 2020). The 881 every day for milling from 20" to 40" wide. If you are after 14" to 24" then 661. I'd still go for new. Looked after and loved , as they are, they'll be worth something...or earn their weight. Which they have. My 2008 660 was retired and made helped pay for the 661.
  25. Good Morning Another brisk one. Long day in deepest Berkshire today. Tomorrow in Wilts and back to Berks. Going to be a long one. Have fun.
