  1. 8500 hours on machine, leaking from somewhere higher but running down to where prop meets gear box. Was thinking about leaving cab mounting bolts in at front and only lifting from the back only by a few inches, maybe disconnect pto link
  2. Back end oil leak on valtra 8100. Coming front right under cab, running down fuel tank and coming out where prop meets gearbox. is a small intermittent leak, mostly little drip, sometimes continuos, sometimes nothing, everything working fine, and still using machine daily for timber extraction. Can not see where its coming from, so am asking if i can undo bolts and lift cab just by an inch or two to have a look, been told it maybe an oil seal on pto drive, or something to do with clutch or delta powershift that may mean splitting machine, hoping its something simple, but needs to be sorted.   11. Cheers Spud Thats the filter i've been considering, reminds me of the pancake filters i used to have on my old mini. Will need new top cover. Seems USA saws come with heavy duty filters as standard, are we missing out on something?

Recently bought a husky 576xp original air filter lasted about 4 weeks before breaking, replaced with similar mesh filter, seems fine at the moment, just wondered what the benefits of a heavy duty filter are? or if any 1 uses them?I'am a cutter using the saw 8 hours a day.   13. I was getting £15/pt on a recent coppice site plus £500 a hectare, was low diameter and some parts were just hazel. Was cutting 4t a day and 1/2 a hectare a week. Just moved to forestry commission site, nice beech, easy felling £8/pt, booking out 10/12 tonne a day. All own kit, own fuel etc

  16. What softwood do you sell apart from your Larch? How does Norway Spruce and Scots Pine get on in a burner?

Sorry to confuse everyone, timber is still standing and iam working out a deal with a chap over the road with a processor, he has said he will buy everything i can cut and wants 300 ton this year, so i need to work out a price per m3. £35 - 40 per ton is what i have found searching through the forums
