  1. If it's for a mortgage I suspect they'll want to know soil types beneath foundation level. They want to see how plastic the soil is (normally anything over 11% is shrinkable) Been a while since I did Sub's work but testing soil samples can vary a lot every few feet. We used to use a company called CET - they used to sink boare holes all round the property and test is at various depth until they got beneath the foundation level HTH
  2. Same happened to me last summer after using carpet glue to stick camping mats to my roof!! Haven't tried it yet but was gonna give this stuff a try: eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace Apparantly its used a lot on VW campers? I've seen over 50oC in my 110 after being left in the sun all day so hopefully 70 oC would be ok! HTH
  3. Hi mate, We just bought a Atlas tipper trailer and are quite impressed so far. We were under the same impression but it turns out they are now made by Graham Edwards Trailer based in York Livestock Trailers | Plant Trailer | Tipper Trailers | Flatbed Trailer | General Purpose Trailers Apparantly our trailer was the first one to be completely built in the UK? Might be worth giving them a call for more info. We only used it a few time but no problems so far. It tows well and seems to be well built. HTH - Tim
  4. Hi Stu, don't suppose thats on a site over by Hook Common is it? Was looking at a fencing job there recently and there was some randon Euc plantings in amongst pine plantation?
  5. I fitted a GKN unit to my old 200Tdi 90 and it was brilliant especially for towing as it could be used as a splitter in 3 and 4 and then lower the rev's in 5th once on the motorway. I found it made motorway work much more relaxing. Got a Td5 110 and am gutted I had to sell my 200Tdi with the unit still attached. The Td5 is a good engine but definately needs long legs above 60mph. GKN dont make the overdrives anymore but they do pop up time to time on flebay and I think Devon4x4 stock parts for them still. When money allows I will be getting a Roverdrive unit (expensive mind £1500). Unlike the GKN unit it has no electrics involve which I like the sound of and I think it runs straight off the gearbox oil rather than its own supply. I don't think you'll ever make your money back on the unit in diesel costs (although if it hits £2 per litre....!) but it will make motorway driving much nicer and give you more flexibility when towing.
