  6. I think you will find that you only have a certificate of attendance. I am not sure if back in 2001 Lantra did an ITA course I don't think they did, If they did it's only valid for 5 years,

  10. I think it may depend on the stage that we observe the rot, on the other hand disregarding inonotus have you related brown cubicle and white rots in relation to ring porous and diffuse porous timbers ?

  12. As I mentioned earlier The decay of Inonotus hispidus has been classed as a white rot decay fungi, attacking cellulose and lignin at a similar rate, With the location of your trees the risk of branch failure is to high. so you should fell the complete tree and replant with Leyland-ii

  16. Yes I see what you mean. Clearer in this pic, I think wind snap is on the cards. once the crop has bin cut this tree will be felled.

    I will be there on Friday and Saturday. with a good friend Tony Handford. Helping him on his wood turning stand. come and say hello if you get the chance.
  18. Good point I will photograph the whole tree in the week if i get chance. The decay of Inonotus hispidus has been classed as a white rot decay fungi, attacking cellulose and lignin at a similar rate especially on Ash. This affects the compression and tension timber at the same time, this in turn can cause the timber to become very brittle, depending on the characteristics of the timber infected. Ash is more seriously affected by Inonotus hispidus than most of the other broadleaved species.

    Any one going to westonbrit next weekend for the Treefest.
  21. Ground compaction is highly unlikely in this case. Area has had very little traffic foot or mechanical if any near it in the last 90 years. Interesting diagnoses I wont rule it out though
  22. Any body know what is wrong with this wellingtonia. and any possible treatment ? any advice appreciated.
