We are happy to pay a bit for Chips that we can use as cattle bedding, no thorn, yew, rhodie, laurel or bathing else we know is toxic. Cord/Rings can be tipped for free. Tipping is on concrete, but always call first else there may be a bunch of cows in the way.
  6. or you could just audition for a bit part in the next Clarkson, see if you can actually get it stuck
  7. There has been a slight to-do in our pub, as the rules of the pumpkin comp were that entrants had to purchase the seedling, however, things went wrong when the first load of seedlings snuffed it, and the second lot purchased from a garden centre as "Atlantic Giant" threw a crop of "various". Much more exciting than other years.
  8. could be a poor year for sloe gin. Bother
  9. Sloes on one area of blackthorn are affected. Anyone seen this before, or know what would cause it?
  10. There was a time in history when, if you went across to France and stocked up on Lager, and invested the same amount of money in Marconi , by the time you had finished drinking the lager, the empty cans were wot more than the shares.
  11. Drop in if you are passing, will be great to catch up. I have announced my retirement, but it doesn't seem to have made the blindest bit of difference
  12. Gum Tree met with a resounding "Yes of course it is" thanks Andrew We are still here, just converting the last little shed for AirB&B, hope everything is good with you.
  13. This whole thread came about because a friend. who works in a fabric shop, asked me what tree I thought was depicted on a fabric that she and Mrs D were conspiring to furnish our little cottage with. And today the went to look at the gardens at Heaver, hence the above. Below is a picture of the fabric, so I would also like your suggestions for this, but I appreciate it is probably a stylised representation, but of what?
