  9. It's just a learning curve mate, you'll have some good days some bad until you get some experience, every one gets a bit of disco foot every now and then it helps you work safe, check and double check. One thing is do you really want to be climbing on your own?? You should always have someone with you!

  11. Nice video, nice wide open trees to jump round in ! I think the spiderjacm looks awesome but costs a fortune do I'll be sticking with my hitch climber lol
  12. Hang on a minute here, that's not the point I was trying to make, all I was pointing out was that load bearing stitching is a different colour, obviously you wouldn't climb on it if it solely consisted of those 5 stitches, cause the 5 stitches ARE load bearing along with the whole of the bridge how would the load be transferred subject to a fall? I shouldnt have said they were indicators in my previous post that's a mistake on my part, apologies. But im glad to see people picked up my deliberate mistake and corrected me
  13. I prefer the distel to the vt, does anyone else find thar when using a vt it twists the rope up??
  14. Stitches: Next, go through all the load-bearing stitching. All load-bearing stitching must be a different color than the fabric it’s sewn into. Industrial rope access guidelines state that a single picked thread is grounds for retiring a harness. This may be a bit harsh, but it should give you a good idea of how little it takes to compromise your harness’s strength. Hse guidelines Apologies accepted on a postcard Ben
  15. I can vouch for Danny he's a good lad Just been unlucky with the way contracts have panned out.
  16. I don't have any literature to hand, put I'm sure as you generally look at a harness most load bearing aspects are a bright or different colour stitching and require thorough checking obviously if you are personally concerned with the tear I would change it, and as stated it has been exposed to heat to seal it, in an inspection situation, I would recommend changing it, because you can't certain how long the heat was on it for and how weakened the bridge is from the tear, if it was my personal harness it wouldn't bother me to much. But you can't be sure from looking at a photo
  17. The different colours act as indicators as you haven't gone through that first one I wouldn't worry about it just monitor it before every climb if it's gets worse cut it up
