  9. I have trouble climbing out of bed in the morning (specially dark ones) never mind big trees,
  10. another thing learned... took these photos today at work, and from what I learned yesterday i believe it to be a saprophytic type (check me) i havent a clue what type though pictures are'nt brill Iphones ****.
  11. It's like being in a forieghn country referring to my translation guide to piece together what's being said lol
  12. I was just saying that to the lads at work, I've done this job for 6 years and there's so much to learn I should be busy for the next 20 lol, and thank you for your invaluable advice I appreciate it
  13. I've just copy and pasted the glossary of terms from the fungi identification, page and that will help me alot I may actually be able to understand some of the things that get posted on here I've I keep referring back to them. !
  14. That's just what, I needed, I found that very informative I work In a ill informed environment were people believe that if there's fungi On the tree they think it's dying or not safe to climb which obviously isn't the case it just requires further investigation but without the knowledge your knackered
  15. No I meant in general not specifically the ones on the photo?
  16. So they don't present any harm to the tree unless it's in a really poor condition?
  17. Wow so they are vicious things really !
  18. at the risk of sounding stupid what does that mean (fungi regressing indicates biotrophic G australe) cheers ben __________________
  19. took these photos at work today what do you reckon?? just out of interest as i know sweet f.a about funghi and what there consequences are but i am interested and would like to learn more. cheers ben
  20. Well the deal is done pick up my new truck tommoro, 03 l200 animal, straight swap for my zx6r
  21. Right here's the situation I'm currently employed mon-fri, but myself and my business partner are in the process of starting up, I but a thread on here asking if anyone required a freelance climber, steve asked me to do a Saturday climbing for him, then he kindly but a reference on here,
  22. I could never get away with the v.t although my set up was a bit longer than that, I find the distel far better, and I use a fishermans instead of a bowline because once loaded the knot grabs the krab, instead of it floating around, I also use the middle hole which sits it out of the way, I did find with a v.t if your climbing up on a crossed up rope as you reach the crotch, the rope can sit in front of the knot preventing it from graving the rope so becareful , holla
  23. Thanks Steve, let's hope for better weather next time!, in the process of going self employed anyone who needs a climber let me know, cheers.
  24. What are the conquences of this ?
  25. a little help to identify this please, and any additional information would be grately appreciated. re pollarded, this fraxinus yesterday and Id like to learn more regarding funghi, disease and infections. cheers ben
