  2. Surely the moral of this story is to get more then one quote, especially if the guy ask for £2300 to reduce the height of your hedge...

  5. not easily though... a good groundsman is worth alot more than that.. 50 pound a day isnt even worth the effort to be come trained, you may aswell get a labourer in. i'm not saying 120 isnt a bit steep, but i cant see how you can justify askin 150 for yourself and paying a groundie 50.
  6. I dont see how you can expect an experienced groundie with tickets to work/live on 50 - 70 pound a day
  7. well there seems to be a shed load of tree surgeons in worthing on any day of the week, if you drive from one side to the other

I was trying to remember the last time I did a job that could not be considered "awkward" even if it was a straight fell chances are there's a drag up the garden through the garage and over a gate to the truck. So I think this guy is just using ebay as some free advertising. When he turns up to quote a job, explains its not straight forward, gives them a good price, say he'll knock of the value of the wood from the price.... could work for him

  20. hello folks, any idea on what this on an apple tree? noticed it last year and has progress down the branch and appears to be getting worse. and if there is anything i can do to stop the spread. thanks

  24. I'm a sub contracting Groundsman looking for work in Sussex on casual basis. I have three years expirence working full time for a local firm, doing a large range of tree work. Have now decided to go it alone and will be looking to fill my diary. I have cs 30 and cs 31 and arial rescue also RfS cert arb theory. will have own saws and transport.
