Got one of these bad boys for christmas, it's simply amazing. The 1080p quality is stunning and that's not close to the highest resolution it will do. The 12mp stills also have the wow factor..

Had my ropes freeze while I was using them today. They got soaked on friday and were only a little a drier today. Using the S/J squeezed all the cold water out onto my crotch. Happy times!

Hi guys, I'm looking into booking in for the PTI course soon but I havn't it a clue as to the level of knowledge they expect you to have before hand. Its a 3 day course IIRC but is there training involved or is it just an uber long assessment? Any who's done the course please get in touch! I have quite a few questions

Hi guys, its been a while since I last posted! I was employed as an arborist earlier in the year but was made redundant. Since then I've bounced from job to job and since landed myself a temporary gardening job during the week and doing occasional small tree work/gardening at the weekends and evenings. My temporary position will be ending in the next couple of months so I'm on the lookout for ANYTHING tree related going in the Norfolk/Suffolk area. I have nearly 4 years industry experience, cs 30, 31, 38, 39, 40, 1st Aid, CSCS, experience driving chippers and trailers although I currently only have a full driving licence with no trailer entitlement. Excellent fungi/disease knowledge and tree identification. I have undertaken lots of big dismantles and reductions and I'll get to wherever you need me in the tree. Also done my fair share of small stuff. And also a hideous amount of turfing, grass cutting, shrub/border work so I'd be open to the occasional usual grounds maintenance! My tree hazard assessment is also very good and I have a good amount of surveying experience. I would LOVE a trainee surveyor job as my eventual goal is to become a consultant. I troll all of the usual (and not so usual) websites waiting for tree surgery jobs in my area to come up but they never do or they're gone in a flash. I've also called a good few companies to find work but there truly is nothing about. I have a car and I'd be willing to travel up to 40 miles each way for the right job! I'm currently looking into doing a tonne more tickets and hopefully get professional tree inspection and UA1, 2, 2.1 and 5 under my belt but the gardening doesn't pay too well so it's a pipedream for the moment Thank you for reading this long winded post anyway guys and if anyone can help me out I'll truly owe you one! Hi everyone, So basically, around a month ago I applied to take down one fairly large Chestnut at the end of a customers garden as it had already lost several large branches and shades their garden and house completely. It's in a conservation area so filled out the paperwork and sent it off. The tree didn't have a TPO so no problems there. ..Got a call from the customer today saying that the local TO had been over, given recommendations for every other tree in the garden except the Chestnut and said that nobody is allowed to touch the Chestnut at all, and also be incredibly rude and patronising about the whole thing. At no point at all has the TO tried to contact me about anything, he may have put a TPO on the tree but I have no way of knowing. I guess I'm asking what my next step would be! I also removed a large diseased (Ganoderma spp) Chestnut next to it a while ago. The TO was apparantly very angry that this tree had been taken down and he wouldn't have given his consent if he realised that this was the tree that permission has been granted for. Funny thing is that I sent clear photographs (8 in total) showing which tree it was, where it was, the fungal fruit bodies and what was around it. Couldn't possibly have been more clear about which tree it was. He signed the consent form to give permission to have it removed so I don't understand why he's upset? Does anyone else feel that their local TO has a personal vendetta against them? Cheers!

I bought a brand new rear handled 192 for carving the other day.

I would continue to use it.. This stuff is meant to be rugged, it's going to be perfectly fine after falling out of a tree.

I've done all my training with BTS. Can't emphasise enough how good they are. Easton were rubbish, groups of 15 or 20 and they only work with the fastest learners, with BTS theres 2 or 3 of you and you move on when you're ready. At BTS you go through the theory in the classroom, then straight out on site and fell, fell, fell, as many times as you need to get it right. Their top instructor, Mutley (Kevin Muttitt) is an absolute legend, he could teach a flea to play mozart if you could find a piano small enough.

All sounds too tricky, what's wrong with just cutting down a tree and splitting it?

I wash mine once a month or so, never tumble dried. Did it to one pair and it wasn't a good look. I've always hung them over a chair infront of the wood burner, turn them inside out after a while if it needs to be done overnight.

I was admitted into hospital a year ago today with meningitis. I thought it was just a really bad headache then I collapsed and blacked out. If I hadn't ignored it for a couple of days before hand it wouldn't have been half as bad. Depending on how bad it was, he's probably going to be feeling really wierd for the next few months, like he's not all there. Loss of concentration is the big one so watch out for it. Happened to me.

I thought it was just me who throught this? The other guy is Carl Ansell, both very good teachers. I did the ND and to be honest, the course moved incredibly slowly. I would go for the foundation or apprenticeship if I did it again.

Hey guys, just been looking around for a bit and can't really seem to find a good answer to which is the highest Arbor qualification you can get. I wouldn't mind going to uni so I'd like something to aim for. Cheers
