    Jokes???

Three mates turn up to a fancy dress party one green from head to toe, one red from top to toe, and one with his penis in a bowl of custard. The the doorman says "you have to explain this or you're not coming in." "I'm green with envy says the first", and "I'm red with rage" says the second. So the doorman lets them in, "but you've got some explaining to do! " he says to the third. "I'm f***ing disgusted", he says, "now can I come in, it's cold out here"
  3. No idea on the heart meds, but it was belladonna which dilates the pupils... Eta: in small amounts, or risk death!

I was rather chuffed, but not so much as my daughter!

    Bug Fung

Male stag beetle (first seen in the garden this year) on a rotten horse chestnut log, with what I think are young Xylaria, possibly polymorpha. If so it'll be the first fruiting of them from this log too...
  6. Lovely ta...
  7. Link not working for me David...
  8. One of my favourite flowers, lovely...
  9. I'm lost, are we still talking about nachos?
  10. Go Gary I like to mix em up personally...
  11. It's a fungus Huck. And I've heard of it used as a cancer treatment too, I think those in white coats might be trying to extract a new medicine from it even. Possibly used in Chinese medicine for something or other too...
  12. Earlier today in a relatively busy street, across the road from an out of town bank, bakery, & little tesco, I saw a boxer dog. It was a fully grown , but obviously quite young still, and with two young girls. When I say with, I mean it was running back and forth across the road and jumping up and bouncing off their chests/backs while they ran screaming away from it. I stood for a moment to assess whether the owner of the dog was around, they weren't. I had my two young'us with me, so rushed them back to the car to my wife, and made of after the dog. Long story short I luckily bumped into a lady who thought she recognised the dog, and guided me to what did turn out to be the dogs home. I was astounded that so many people could see quite clearly the girls were in distress and it was not their dog, and the dog could easily have been hit by a car, and yet they purposefully looked away or carried on walking to avoid helping! So to restore my wounded faith in humanity feel free to share your stories of good to strangers here...
  13. Very nice pics. I wonder what is contained in the droplets of various species, same compounds or different? Like everything in nature I expect there must be a reason for it. I've heard suggestions of it being a means to adjust the moisture content of the colonised wood, but I'm not convinced by that...
  14. Cheers trigger, are you aware of any jobs going?
  15. Certainly an option. Do they grow strawberries over there? I'd have thought it was too cold!

Brilliant! One I invented myself: What does T rex like to eat in the morning? Breckiasaurus! Now where's my coat...
  17. Hi all, copied below from the employment forum, in case anyone else sees it here or wants to reply: On behalf of my brother, does anyone know of any job vacancies in Norway, any job, anywhere? He's been trying for so long now to find a job over there so he can stay with his girlfriend and one year old son, but can't find anything. His language held him back at first, now he can't find a preferred job near his family, so any job anywhere will do! He keeps having to come back here, work then go back, but that isn't sustainable as it's a pita and living costs are so much over there. He can speak reasonable Norwegian after living there a couple of years plus several courses etc. He's a good, qualified welder and steel erector, diving instructor, and has some qualification or other combining the two. I'll confirm exactly what and repost it... To be honest he's desperate and will take just about any job anywhere in Norway, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Feel free to pm me or email [email protected] if you can help, many thanks, Kev...

  20. Sod em! I'm in business now. Anyone wanna buy a shiitake stem? £5 + p&p...
  21. If something seems to good to be true... Gutted for you, I really am, but come on!!!
  22. Nice, the Amanitas are a very handsome bunch. Here, odd for this time of year, is an oyster just spotted in my garden. I chopped up the stems from a wild oyster I found fruiting last autumn /winter (around Oct/Nov) and poked a little into 10mm holes drilled into a couple of fresh logs (cherry plum, if memory serves me well). I thought I'd be lucky if it worked at all, and certainly didn't expect to see anything happening yet!
  23. Pretty much, yes. It does have some limitations (doesn't everything) but will do most things. Preloaded with tree names, common, binomial, etc, can auto assign sequential tree ids (so you don't end with two T13s!) drop down box preset to what you want etc. It's pretty versatile really, I think it is (was anyway, not sure about now) one of pear techs least advertised great features. If you want to use their treeMinder management program you do (or at least used to) need to use their preset survey templates. To be honest though, I wasn't keen on that, so haven't used treeMinder since I started using custom survey templates, and just importing the data into Excel to include in a report. Did you have something specific in mind?
  24. Yes the survey writer is pretty handy, especially for tweaking the risk assessment surveys, I just didn't get on with their standard one...
