  5. Friday night I'm baby sitting as my misses works so it will have tobe sat morning for me:-). Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. For self tending the thinner the better but then holding the rope in wet conditions can be hard, I would go for a tighter rope like blue tongue or tachyon, these are more rigid and feed into the zz better. Some of us have had issues on small diameter ropes and others haven't. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  10. Stick with the pi and keep us updated.i think as the weeks go on more and more people will be complaining, we need to build a case on here. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. Another thing to add it seems us guys running 11-11.5 seem to be having the problems. I think if you run 12+ your rope diameter won't cut into the groves like a thin rope. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. What rope you running desertrat? How often are you climbing on it? I thought mine was fine until I had a big Climb today with long descents. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. High scale it's not the line where the brown dirt is that's a light defect its the top corner of the cut out, just incase you was seeing it wrong.:-) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Yea but the bottoms put a bend in and add friction and the tops seem to clamp the rope as the rope stays more vertical, I believe these are the ones causing damage. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. There fine mate I pulled the rope out the bottom links to test how much load the tops take. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Right lads I have had a play here is some pictures of the damage on my rope and the conclusion I have come to.first off the damage. Secondly I found a burr on the 1st groved link at the top of the rack, kind hard to see in the picture. Once found I load tested to see what Links took most load and it seems the top ones squeeze the rope together which could cause the rope being snagged on the fine burr. My bottom links have smoothed out nicely as the rope runs at a angle over them so I'm going to get some fine paper and remove the sharp edges and burr on the top groved links and hopefully this will do the trick. 17. Yea i will try my best to take some pictures in a bit but I might not be able to get a picture of it loaded until tomorrow as I have no trees to hang from. Shower then il sort it! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  19. Yup got to agree with that but today I had a Lombardy poplar dismantle with a crane, alot of up down work and it has started to shag my rope I'm noticing lots of strands getting plucked out. It looks like its the bottom 2 rails causing the damage, as the rope runs over them under load its stretching the yarns out and catches them on the sharp edges of the indents. Hope that's makes sense Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
