    I’ve bought both now,
Got a cheap 4x4 for off road and towing plant trailer,
Still mainly in the transit though.
It would help if my guys would drive...??‍♂️?emoji106.png

yep i went the same route after running a 4x4 with high sides whilst towing a high sided Ifor trailer, i eventually bought a cheap MK6 Transit crewcab tipper and sold the Ifor.  I still have a 4x4 pickup though so i have the best of both worlds.

I'd be in there getting trench boxes in and laying the deep drainage, not something I'd relish, but I'm sure things will get tough in short time.

Yep me and me missus reckon the same so we are banking dollar as quickly as we can just in case.  She got Furloughed but quickly decided not to rest on her laurels and got anudder job within 10 days as she was concerned about mass unemployment and the associated misery.  I think ya shud play it safe and take that site job,  it may only be for 6 months or so but it'll feed yer massive belly!

I can only speak for the Eder 1800; as you finish tightening the rope you ease off on the tail rope, which cuts the throttle to tickover and simultaneously the tail rope is held in a cleat, thus maintaining tension until you grab the tail rope and pull at full throttle again.

I'd happily come and demonstrate it if I were nearby

I was chatting to a lad i know today and he was raving on about the Eder 1800 being brilliant as his employer has one. I may splash the cash meself and buy one.

    Good evening,

Trying to find any information on the Echo CS-2800 chainsaw.

I recently picked one up from a guy on gumtree who was selling it for spares/repairs. I’m planning on stripping it all the way down and trying to get it working. This is not for serious use, it is mainly for something to do and help me learn a bit about how chainsaws work.

Google has been entirely unhelpful. When were these saws made and were they any good? Are they rare and am i actually sitting on a potential entry to antiques roadshow?

I’ll turn this over to the collective wisdom of the forums!

is it a CS 280 TES by any chance?

Ash die back will continue to provide work for a good few years .....

i agree,  bigger setups are flat out on ADB and even 'bottom feeders' like meself are reaping the benefits at the moment!  I see some people throwing money at bigger kit, additional vehicles etc.  I am small fry compared to the local competition but i have never been so busy.  I have 18 site visits to do over the next 2 days. Lets see how hungry we all are come Jan. 2021

  10. hello Dave,

I feel you pain regarding not being able to easily place long items in the bed without placing them diagonally or having to tie them up against the ladder rack H frame. I make do with a double cab pickup as i don't chip into the back of it that often as i also run a Ford Transhit tipper.  I reckon a super cab (1.5 cab) with suicide doors would be ideal for small kids in a kids car seat or on a booster seat but not ideal for an adult unless they had short legs as the journey cud be torture. Super cabs have useful space behind the seats for kit but obviously a proper double cab has quite a bit more space. I know Mitsubishi  do a 'Long back' version of the L200 which i believe is a double cab fitted with a single cab or is it a space cab tub on the back?  This would give you more length for fence posts etc along with having a proper 5 seater cab.

Nope he had no credible explanation.

First he said he wants back saw on original condition or no refund and that he has record of all parts. I then said you getting saw back in better condition. I also asked for the serial number as he keeps records to which he did not reply.

However, he did say all his saws are authentic and that he gets them all from Stihl Germany ?

whas his ebay username i wonder?

  12. I own a stolen recovered 357xp that looked as though it was a week old when i bought it at a Garda auction in 2008. It too had the VIN plate removed to hide it's identity but when after a filthy stint of utility arb cutting i washed the saw down with brake cleaner to remove crud, sap etc is when the white adhesive sticker containing the serial number became detached from between the fuel tank and crankcase as the brake cleaner scoured away the adhesive,  this was handy as it came in useful to know the year of manufacture when i was ordering spares for it. I'd be upfront if you list it on Ebay as a stolen / recovered saw in order to cover yer arse.  A MK2 550xp will serve you well.
