  1. Using an old zetor yesterday, long story short !

kept cutting out due to a fuel fault so was cranking for a while till it fired up.

would not start but( i think the solenoid) was still spinning even with the key out

had to whip battery lead off,bit of a spark !

i dont want to put lead back on as i have heard the battery could explode, leads were very hot by the time i got back with a spanner.

any thoughts , is the starter knackered or more of an electrical fault from start button?

this wasnt exactly a long story short really was it lol

    cheers mike

  2. if your going to buy a saw off ebay price a new pot and piston as well because 50% of saws sold on the bay are scrap. Some basic ebay translations to remember "ran fine but won't start now" is ebay for scrap, "selling for a friend" means scrap, "not running right, may be easy fix" means scrap, "running rough may just need a service" means scrap. Unless they clearly state that the saw is in good working order and offer a returns policy, avoid unless your getting it for peanuts and can cover the cost of replacement parts. If your looking for a hobby grade saw i'd buy a new husky 135, 40cc, 14" bar, and you might get a few years warranty if its for home owner use. But if your thinking "i could get a used pro grade saw for the same money on ebay" remember most pro grade saws are bought by professionals, and professionals don't often sell the tools of their trade until they have razzed the life out of them!

  5. Long story short

Site i look after had to have a wild flower area as part of planning (site has been open 1 year exactly)

New owner wants me to cut it down now because the grass is very long and there are hardly any wild flowers

Question is , can you be fined ie the contractor, for cutting it down before it has flowered ?

I told the new owner that he could get in trouble with the council for cutting it down and he said oh ill give them some guff about it needing reseeding.

Any advice as to where i stand

    Cheers

    Mike
