cheers for replies,its down the garage now but they cant look at it till tomorrow, ive got it dead and buried but hopefully its curable for not too many pennies

Transit 2.2 08 plate died on me today.
lost power and when i stopped and dipped clutch it died and wouldnt start again.no warning lights on dash.
was making strange droning sound as it lost power
Anyone else had same problem ?

have a look at the lawnflite lf48, i have one stationed at a property, does 2.5 hours a week,£499 i think, rear roller tho

im a husky/jonsered man for saws,but prefer stihl for hedge cutters and blowers,its all about personal choice really, all are good/bad in their own right,see if you can have a try with the big dolmar and the echo before you buy,i think you would be more than pleased with either

heavy but solidly built,not the fastest saw but tons of torque,no prob with a 28" i used to run mine on a 30, but get a sprocket nose bar for it

binned my 153 when i couldnt get parts,gutted such a good saw,i also had a stihl duro bar on mine,just had to drill adjuster holes out a bit

if it was a business venture,what would the rate be ?no petrol tools, just looking after beds/borders/pots etc, im thinking about taking on extra help with these things,a good knowledge of plants/flowers etc

is the file biting into the tooth, you should feel it bite in, if you have hit a flint etc it will really harden the cutting edge and make it hard to sharpen, as others have said put a grinder on it or get your local shop to do it then use file next time you sharpen

i got my skip chains from usa, frawleys saw shop on ebay,2 x 28", 050, 3/8ths plus postage was about £50,
