ive got a mountfield sp555 on demo at the moment, has the twin blade thingy fitted, cuts and bags well in the wet, not sure it would stand up to a huge amount of commercial use but seems good, light and has antivibe engine mounts, pretty user friendly,no bbc tho,190 honda engine with autochoke gubbins, this is a rear roller version,£950 seems steeep for a mountfield but is nearly up there with my lawnflite pro hi speed

I find this though with Agri fencing work, look at a job when it's bone dry and access across steep clay slopes (for example) is a doddle, but if the job then happens to land on bad weather it makes the whole job a complete nightmare requiring more speacialist access machinery potentially and time spent repairing damage to fields etc- the price doesn't change- just my stress and enjoyment levels- if can work vice veraasometimes.
Swings and roundabouts and all that- although I think a string of roundabouts sums up my work life pretty well lately
Dont forget that timber /wire etc prices can go up a fair bit in a few months, i had this a while back, quoted the job in february, didnt hear back till june,in this time there was a 5% increase in the material costs, i now only hold quotes for 30 days

i had a 56 plate 2.5 tdci, much more gutsy than the old 2.5, 143 bhp i think, gearbox a bit notchy but not a problem, well equipped in the cab (thunder), still had the vague steering tho, mine had done 144k when it shot the head gasket, caught in time with no other damage, i would have the 3.0 auto next time tho, coz im a lazy bastard ha ha, had general grabber at2 tyres and performed well off road and would return 30/34 mpg on road

Yea there certainly was thousands of tiny bulbs which I made sure I was extra careful to remove all of them but it seems not careful enough.
What did you do when you had this situation miker?
Thanks.
Hi Mate, what others have said, glypho every month and topping up gravel level also helped,100mm deep now

Fair play, some small jobs are worth going back to hand tools,i find laurel a pain in the ass to cut with hedge cutters, ive got a nice pair of corona hedge shears that come out of the van now and then

Leopard print or zebra stripe?

from noise or cold ? ply lining helps and a rubber stable mat on the floor for noise

If they can't cut it or grind it, they simply freeze spray it until brittle and shatter it with a quick blow from a hammer! Good insurance and whatever security appeases the policy is about the best you can do these days sadly.

Agreed,so much theft about lately,i have decent insurance, wish i could wire everything up to the mains !!

Lock some chains together, the container locks look like they would be the best as in not being able to get bolt cutters on the shackle, agree with the chain being up high/loose
i know if the bastards really want to cut them they will, just trying to make it as hard as possible/noisy for them
cheers
