  1. Fair comment although i do like my huskys and still in love with my 372:biggrin:
  2. Thanks So what one saw is it for you now ?
  3. Sorry i know its a bit sad to praise a saw so much but i need to say `i fell in love my new 372 today`! I have used nearly all the huskys ever built and unbelievably overlooked the 372, until today. I picked it up friday and used it all day today with a 20" bar and it just felt so perfectly balanced and powered. I even stayed until dark just logging up because i didnt want to put it down.(Sad i know). Anyone else feel like this about such a great saw or is it just me
  4. Nice one mate sounds like you had a good day that you`ll always remember
  5. Nice one thats good going ! wish i could make some good money doing one of my hobbies !
  6. Ah right yeah butchers do pay not bad money for them but the farmers wouldn`t , you might get the odd pat on the back if your really lucky. I think the butchers pay about 80pence now for a clean killed rabbit.
  7. If i had been charging a £1 for every rabbit i`d shot i would have retired by now ! Good on ya if you can get it but you never would round here !
  8. Hi , not really so much as a side line to my business but i do a days rabbit gassing once a week (winter only) for a farm owned by my aunt and uncle ( was asked to do it beings i do all the shooting). pays not great , works out to nearly a hundred quid a day for 9 hours but i enjoy it as i take my rifle or shotgun and do a bit of shooting and have stove in my truck for tea and soup and am totally left alone all day. pure peace:thumbup: I would say if you can make a living from it as a sideline then go for it, a change is as good as a rest don`t they say.
  9. That iveco has to be one of the smartest looking arb trucks i have ever seen ! Nice one !
  10. Same here !! ordered new petzl lid Monday morning and arrived Tuesday. Excellent service . many thanks
  11. Chin up ! It ain't that bad . Your probably just feeling a bit down as it ain't going perfectly at the moment but you have to remember that your taking your first intense felling course with little experience and it it will all fall into place with a bit of patience commitment and time. Listen to what your being taught and like others says talk yourself through what your doing and take your time. It will soon all become natural ! Also remember that your felling trees not stacking shelves so it ain't going to be a simple 5 minute lesson then thrown into the job !
  12. Pic is a couple year old but two of my favourites !! CZ varmint .22 with ultra jet moderator and Benelli M2 semi auto bought as a 4 shot on fac then added extension tube making it a 10 shot
  13. Thanks for your replys. I was told today by colleague that if you buy it for leisure you don't pay vat or if you want it for work and to put the invoice/reciept through your books then you pay vat .
  14. Just went on to one of the retailers sites on the righthand side that i normally buy from to buy a new vertex vent and noticed vat is charged, went on to two of the others and their helmets are vat exempt. Anyone know why this is ? Thanks
  15. My arbtruck ! has been signwritten since pic taken.
  16. No, he worked mainly on the road gangs and on building sites as a labourer.
  17. WTF to you too !! so a qualified person would do it with not an ounze of ppe would they ? cos i wouldn`t ! would you ? I know he has no quals as i know what he use to do for a living as he`s known in a couploe of the villages near me. If you don`t under stand what i meant it was the fact that he does go in and do jobs that i have quoted for for free even if its only a few in the last couple years, and i don`t give a toss about the taking wood from roadside. is that worded better for you skyhuck ?
  18. its no crappy mcholloch or b&q special, its an old husky from what i have seen. i`ll try and get some pics next time i see him. hes also quite fussy too as he won`t touch leylandii or cypress i suppose because of the green waste on it !
  19. yes your probably right . he`s always seen at the side of the road and in field entrances too with his little saw taking trees that have gone over which to be honest dosen`t bother me its the nicking jobs doing it for free which is annoying, but like you say he`ll probably come a cropper one day !
  20. yes i have ! theres some old retired fart quite local to me that will straight fell trees free of charge just for the wood. the annoying part is he hasn`t a clue or qualification to his name or own any ppe, just him a chainsaw and an old vw caddy pick up and trailer. i`m waiting to bump into him (quite literally) on a back road !
  21. Chalky's courses are run around the sculthorpe woods area so very close to fakenham. I'm sure there's plenty of b&b's nearby. You should give him a call as he is very helpful and will point you in the right direction. Good luck !
  22. Hi, I done all my tickets through treeworker training which is run by Matt White (chalky) and would highly recommend him. I think if you ring Easton college and book it through them that's where they'll probably send you as they did me. Good luck
