  1. Dude we need some of that action next time we take the chipper off. Perfect.
  2. Yeah J. The guys cars got some bad damage from the roof slates. Thinking there will be a long couple of phone calls to insurance companies for them.
  3. To be honest I didn't see a huge amount of damage. This was a weird one. It was towards the top of Lanark road in Edinburgh so I guess as it was more open to the wind the roof got it tight. Don't think I'll ever see that again though.
  4. Sorry 100 mph winds ha ha
  5. Got called out on Friday after Thursday's 1mph winds to remove the roof from a cherry tree. Never seen this before so thought people would like to see. Roof slates etc had already crashed onto their brand new merc s class, M3 and Subaru impreza. Gutted. Enjoy
  6. Stein telescopic retriever works perfect. Use it every rigging job.
  7. Part two is the old boy sitting on the porch playing the banjo.
  8. Yea. We just thought we'd try it and bingo. Love the arbro trolly.
  9. I can put up with dog sh@@ on the wheels seeing as it saved us an extra run each. 4 chainsaws, blower,4cones, signs, climbing kit bag, fuel can, and a set of ladders. Great
  10. Just wanted to share the pics from today loading the arbortrolly up. Love it. Found the ladders slide onto the poles through the runs. Nice.
  11. Yea I was trying to make the point about vosa not knowing the full legislation. Cheers
  12. Your right. So long as your main job is not transporting goods in a vehicle, so in other words you are taking your tools to carry out work not delivering then so long as your are 50km from your base your fine. Got stopped by vosa and the police carrying a tracked chipper on my iveco 3.5t and the dude from vosa suggested I should fit a tacho. He even suggested I should fit it to my navara. So looked into it more a proves that not even vosa can clearly identify who should and shouldn't have tacho's. Bored of this countries Bureaucracy bull.
  13. CTS

    ART positioner

I wouldn't suggest using it on a wire core hurts the ribs.
  14. CTS

    ART positioner

I've got one and had it supplied on a wire core line. It doesn't bite as it should and I feel should only be fitted on normal side strops as there is not enough flex for it to bite well on the wire core. It can be disassembled using two different Allen keys. Had to do this on the spider jack and positioner after loler check. Just make sure you have it the tight way round before you build it back up ha ha. cheers
  15. Took it out today with fresh teeth on it. Definitely better but still dying if you move it too fast. I recon the auto sweep ain't working at all so need to go and check the feed from the stator. Where is this?
  16. Did you post the manual?? Where can I find it ??
  17. Sounds good but is the load sensor not involved in the control box which by the sounds of it is not getting a feed ?
  18. Thanks the belts have been replaced and are tight. I haven't disconnected the auto sweep but you have made a great point about the charge. It def ain't charging. How do I check that??
  19. No sure I'd fancy using that crane again on any kind of a job. It looks to me as there is no though put into the job at all just tie her in a cut. Mental to think they are being taught this.
  20. Well it starts off ok. It within minutes it will struggle to sweep though the stump. More when sweeping to the right. Since replacing the belts the rpm of the head seems to be slower. It was bouncing of the stump rather than doing any cutting. It never ever picks up the revs when under load and if you catch it too quickly on the stump the whole machine locks up and stalls. It's making grinding unbearable. Ideas?
  21. Engine runs good as far as I'm aware. Don't seem to have any major miss running or anything. It ain't charging the battery mind you. I just need someone to tell me this is the exact problem. Had too many heart breaking days with it and spent enough on parts that ain't making a difference. Help help help
  22. There is the control box under the bonnet. One of the wires there is the auto sweep. Think it's the top one as you look at it. Not sure.
  23. Thanks is he from vermeer uk?
  24. Ok so left it into our local machine repair centre for grass cutters and such like. They have a sc252 that they rent out so the confidence that they would solve the problem was there. Mentioned to the service manager all the possible problems that you guys had put forward on here. Received a confidant phone call that as the belts were so slack and the front bearings were in poor nick that replacement of these would solve the problem. He pointed out that if the belts are slipping then the engine won't respond under load. Great sounds like a simple procedure and the belt and bearings did need replaced. I had mentioned during this call that I still feel its more than that, maybe a control box issue or some engine faults that you guys had said but he played them off. Ok great get me a price. " ok I'll call you today" two days later I called back waited 5 hrs and another manager call me with 3 options. I took the cheapest as the other two involved another engine service which I had carried out a month or two ago. The price £543 inc vat. Ok a little pricey but if this solves the problem as the service manager had sold it to me great. Took it out today for the first time since and it is worse that before. The head seems to be rpm much slower and it was bouncing and chocking on the smallest stuff. RAGING to say the least. Called the office they told me to bring it back in wasting more time and money. My point with this whole deal is that they sold me the fact they would do their all to solve the issue and after convincing me that all it needed was a few parts that it would be solved. Why fill the world with bull to get some money. I want people to go the extra mile and look at all the options , calling the manufacture if needed. I may be small in relations to the council machinary they deal with but still this is very important to me. I will dump it back to them next week and demand their sc252. I just feel they took the easy option that was sooo obvious fine but the machine is still not fixed. Aaaaaaaaaaa shocking day. Thanks for listening. Ha ha Cheers
  25. Hi man. No chance to fix it. Just get into the winter and have a loom at it.
