  1. The link ain't going through. CheerS
  2. That's interesting. Thanks I'll make sure I don't use it. Thanks
  3. The only thing I don't like about the SJ is when your tail end is running though a fork or your chogging on a straight stem the SJ is really hard to break. Tried using a small kara on my leg loop to help keep the tail from being to tight when going through forks but then the SJ doesn't bight and you have to dress it before you sit back in the harness. Any idea how to solve the fork issue. ??
  4. Thanks or the help. Got the tree down today using a cherry picker to take the weight off the back then a turfer winch to pull it over. Came down perfect. Thanks to Craig for the help today much appreciated.
  5. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=32945 Check this out before the navara purchase. I've had nearly 3 grand spent on mine ( covered by warranty) But just thought you'd like to know.
  6. Is that code for something. Well you are missing all the wonderful 80mph winds here. Sitting here waiting for a call out. Nice
  7. Hi. We've got a 35 c14 really like it but loads up really quick with weight. I put 7 leaf springs on the rear and that keeps the can nice and level when loaded. I would be interested to find out what others have done to theirs.
  8. We just had it serviced a couple of months ago. Not sure. Think it could be the engine. Need to try different tests
  9. That's all I could probably afford. Or Italy??
  10. Thanks for all the input. Haven't noticed a change in using the multi tip head. I'll go check all the ideas you guys have come up with. Thanks I'll let you know.
  11. Using the new multi tip teeth and head. Seems good.
  12. Yea I've tried the auto sweep off. In screwed the cable but feels the same. I just dread going to grind and it should be good.
  13. I have no idea. How would I check that??
  14. Ha ha yeah. It's hard to it all but it's right by a main road and a significant construction line for Edinburgh(controversial Edinburgh transport) Intact we would be using part of the construction line for the processing. It also has a worrying split in the main fork but I did have the thought of tying this off with bracing lines then rigging the tree down. Just felt a crane dismantle would be safer and save time as the construction company may charge more to our council for delays, then I'm left footing the bill for years to come in my council tax ha ha.
  15. The belt tension is good. I have thought I might be pushing it too hard so backed off and it just bogs and stalls. I have thought about the auto sweep and have a feeling that I may need a new control box if that's the case. Expensive but might be worth the frustration it's causing. It's totally putting me off grinding when it should be a nice change from climbing dragging and chipping.
  16. Shows the size and the MAIN road behind. To the right is a nice area for crane and processing. Timber is being left and only small brash chipped and left.
  17. Great advise. And I do not under estimate the potential for something to go wrong. I think I'll call my good mate who got me into tree surgery and has done plenty of crane dismantles to come in on the job. I'd really love to do a job like this though.
  18. Yes. It get a lot worse when hot. I just feel it's gut less. Had the engine serviced and the head is spinning at the correct rpm so don't know what the crack is. I have used one before and it was great but mine is soo frustrating. Help Thank
  19. I'll get onto a couple of crane companies on money and get a site visit sorted.
  20. Never done a crane job before but the crane can get really close to the tree and with plenty of processing area fir the crane to lower branches etc. Just don't want to out price the job. Roughly how much is a large crane??
  21. Hi. The tree has a significant split in one of the main forks and is fairly close to a Very busy main road. To make it fast and safe I want to use a crane
  22. Hi possibly doing a crane dismantle soon and needing some advice on cost and which crane to use. Is a mature sycamore about 60ft with plenty area to use for parking a crane. Any advice would be great. Thanks
  23. I have a Vermeer SC252 grinder. Should be a great grinder but for a long time when it gets hot it is gutless and locks up and stalls when getting throught the stump. The grinder has to be re started 3 or 4 times per ave stump. REally really frustrating as it should be really powerful and easy. In fact I have a feeling it is gutless even when cold. Any ideas???
  24. Big j Did you find out why it was in limp mode??? It's done it 5 times today mainly when I've just turned it on and sitting idle. Soooo pissed with the amount of times I've have to go back to Nissan. Hilux next time I feel.
  25. Turns out I should never have got involved with this chat as the navara has gone into limp mode 4 times in the last 2 days. oh no update soon.
