yep decided to go sawbench route,,and just bought riko splitter,,av11 vtr,,or something like that,,,,fingers crossed,,,,,

hi mate i sell about £2k worth of em a yr,,,there mad for it,,,make em in two parts its quicker and easier,,,,plus the tops can then be larger making it look more life like,,,have look on my website,,,,Winson Woodcraft - hand-made crafts, tree surgeon and pole-lathe turner, i use a 441 for bases and the same for tops finnishing off with ms200,,,,then wait a week and sand em up with angle grinder,,,,oil with linseed and turps,,,,,good luck,,,,,,
