  1. we usually stop at a small village in west scotland for our anniversary every year, i like to take the landy way up the forbidden logging tracks to give the dogs a walk away from people.. this beauty was in the woodchip in the middle of the track.

  2. Looks like we're going to be away that weekend now Kev, but if the weather is bad i may still be able to get.

Not being critical, but your directions are a bit long winded. Is it possible to get there on sat nav from a postcode/address, or even put a link up on google maps? Just a thought fella:thumbup1:

i thought you were just being a lazy satnav follower till i read the directions in full and then realised there was another paragraph of them..

  3. haha dont delete it, we had customer hanging around all day, he helped drag brash from bottom of the tree to near the chipper, walking backwards he tripped over some brash he had dropped and in slow motion tried not to fall, all in vain he fell (fat man) and laid unhurt on his back on the wet road:laugh1:.. it was funny but only i saw it, no point to this post, i should probably delete it but since i've made this much effort i think i'll just post it anyway:thumbup:

  4. no idea but it looks kinda similar to some i found growing in woodchip lastyear, you should make sure they aren't poisonous:thumbup1:, many thanks for prompt overnight delivery of bullrope yesterday. got it nice and dirty already haha

  5. im pretty sure you should only prune them in their dormant season or they will bleed forever, they do not usually need much pruning but sounds like a weight reduction is required here. i have seen props made from wood, metal and even bricks but would ensure a clean smooth joint at the mating surfaces. have you considered cable bracing? Ed

  6. The bolts need to go in from above, IE facing down.

That way if the nuts rattle off the bolt is still in the hole and may still stop the box sliding off.

I worked with some rope access guys who worked on the "Big One" at Blackpool. When it was built many of the bolts had be put in upside down, it was there job to unfasten the bolts put them back in facing down and then paint them.

There were two reasons for those bolts to face down, the first being the one I mentioned above, that a bolt without a nut may still help hold things in place.

The other was that a bolt falling 100ft will do a lot more damage than a nut falling 100ft.

i believe you make a good valid point.. but, the next time i go over a bump im going to have a bolt-end sticking in my head, theres not enough headroom to wear a helmet, so.. how do i make the bolt-ends all soft and fluffy?:001_huh:

  7. nope but im usually well on top of routine welding/repairs etc so its quite painless, mine are both due in feb and cost nothing as mr mot man has a garden full of small trees/bushes..:thumbup1:

  8. i was innocently whacking through some himalayan balsam at one end of the yard with some thinwall piping on wednesday, walked back nearly the full length of the yard before two bees started stinging me, i couldnt see them so whipped my jumper off, one inside my jumper and one inside my teeshirt. this is what the stings looked like after 5mins, four days on i can still feel the swelling a bit.. that'll teach me
